IIT Ropar Reviews on Placements, Faculty and Facilities

IIT Ropar has a consistent average of 90% of students placed throughout the decade. Some of the major recruiters visiting the campus were Amazon, Google, Microsoft, Paypal, Arista Networks, Texas Instruments, Larson and Toubro, Steelwedge, Mahindra and Mahindra, Tata Motors, Coal India, Click Labs, etc. Because of the placements and the quality of batch that IIT Ropar produces, it was even ranked as the 9th best engineering institute by the Union Ministry of Human Resource Development. In major MNCs, candidates having a previous project or internship experience are preferred over fresher candidates. Hence, I would recommend taking up summer internships or building software as a project to level up the chances of interviews. Highest CTC offered was 12 lakh per annum while the average CTC stands at 12lakh per annum.

JEE Councelling depends on the date of JEE Advanced Examination. Roughly it will be 1 month after the exam. You can go to official website of IIT Ropar to know more details. The college is progressing at a faster rate compared to other IITs. So in the long run it will have a greater edge.

Then the next step is to freeze the seat, by visiting nearest center (any IIT). I used Quora to investigate about different colleges.

For my given rank, this was the best college in which I was getting computer science branch. Also I preferred IIT Tag.For the admissions process, first we had to qualify for the Jee mains . Some top students from jee main were allowed to sit for jee advanced. The admissions to the college are based upon rank of iitjee

IITs offer amazing culture and student base including people from all around India. This not only helps in developing your technical skills but your personality as an individual. I opted for CS because I was interested in graphics from the beginning and wanted to prepare the base required to get in that field.

It is, overall, a great college. It has excellent faculty to student ratio. The campus is big, and it's not very crowded. Everyone knows everybody. Everyone celebrates together when the festivals come. And finally we are placed, so it been a great experience.

I am very satisfied with the college. I am lucky enough to land in such a good college. We have all the facilities to excel in whichever field we like besides our core branch. The coding culture of the college is also quite good about which I am very passionate about.
