IIT Ropar CSE cutoff 2024 has yet to be declared. The cutoff of IIT Ropar will be released after the result is declared which will be tentatively out on 14th June 2024. The counseling is held in 6 (or 7) rounds, with 2 additional mock rounds in between for IIT Ropar CSE admission through the Joint Seat Allocation Authority (JoSAA) counseling process. The GATE 2025 cutoff for IIT Ropar for M.Tech admission ranges from 760 to 325 for the General category. For M.Tech Computer Science and Engineering, the Round 1 cutoff is 760, and the last round cutoff is 718. M.Tech Artificial Intelligence recorded a Round 1 cutoff of 744, with the last round admission at 701. Other competitive courses such as M.Tech Biomedical Engineering, VLSI & Micro-Electronics, and Mechanics and Design have a cutoff range from 650 to 466.

Courses including Manufacturing Engineering, Environment & Water Resource Engineering, and Chemical Engineering show cutoffs between 544 and 325. For OBC candidates, the admission cutoff is 741 for M.Tech Computer Science and Engineering and 310 for M.Tech Chemical Engineering. In the SC category, the range is 615 for M.Tech Computer Science and Engineering to 217 for M.Tech Metallurgical & Materials Engineering. For ST candidates, the cutoff is 473 for M.Tech Computer Science and Engineering to 162 for M.Tech Chemical Engineering.

IIT Ropar is a remarkable college!

Likes

Our Principal Professor SK Das has led from the front and made IIT Ropar one of the best 2nd gen IITs.
Computer Science students are provided a mandatory 6 months internship and thus making learning fully practical.
In 2nd gen IITs, it is one of the largest campuses and is also among the most sanitized campuses too.

Dislikes

Campus is in a town and therefore nothing to explore nearby.

Eligibility for every single IITs is through JEE. For students who are in top 5000 in general category gets a call for IITs. Since I was a little low in rank, I was left with fewer choices 2nd gen IITs. So, IIT Guwahati and IIT Gandhinagar were two IITs from where I got admission offer but since IIT Ropar was in my state, i took admission here.

modern infrastructure and peacful campus teh iit ropar campus is among teh most wel planned andmodern cmapuses in india the infrastructure includes lecutre hals labs and high speed netowrk and smart classes hostels are clean comofrtable and equipped
strong placemtn and career development srupport iit ropar offers sold placement opportunites and guidance for career advancemnt

limited city exposure and social life one ofthe major drawbacks of it ropar is its location the campus is siiuated in an smalll twon rupnagar which lacks teh kind of social and cultural exposure that studentsi in diteis enjoy
gender imblaance and limited diversity anoterh are when iit roapr still need improvement is gender diversity teh girls to boys ration on campous is quie low, roughly around 1:8 it depnds on branches
good quality and hostel maintenace issues although hostel are modern and well equpped the food quality in mess is one of the most common complaints among students

i would rate teh course curriclum st iit ropar as highy relevant and comprehesive aroudn 9 to 10 one of the major factsrs tha influced my decision to join iit ropa was its modern and flexible currclum the institue is ogod

The campus I liked it's very huge and full of trees and plantations
The cafeteria is also good has many eating options
Mess is also good the food quality is above average

Dislikes

The girls to boys ratio is very less it should be better
In summers it's very hot to live in campus, the rooms must have been air conditioned
The classrooms are less there are only 6 lecture halls for whole colllege

Admission:

This is the college which I wanted to be in, I didn't dream of going to any other iit because I knew my performance in JEE adv it's was not that good, plus this college is the nearest IIT to which I was getting admission to my home.

Beautiful campus with good college life and many places to visit nearby

Admission:

First of all it's not only choice it also about your score. At my score in jee advance I want geeting this as the best option because I don't want a branch below circuital. This only fulfilled both the things.

There are lots of culture program, specially DJ night
Mess food is good ofcourse not like home but not like typical mess food
Professor are helpful, specially of mechanical department

Dislikes

Curriculum is slightly tough, scoring CGPA is hard compared to other colleges
weather is very hot in summer and very cold in winter
College is far from city about 10 kilometres

Admission:

For getting in this college we have to give jee advanced exam and after that we have to do jossa councling I got hear based on my jee rank , choosing iit ropar was based on my preference list , i saw factors like average package, distance form my town, NIRF ranking etc.

I liked the competitive environment and helping nature of campus ,safe for girls , ragging is not done ,just few interactive sessions with seniors, u can also explore ur talent in other fields , large campus area , various other activities other than
Helpful seniors , mentor is provided to bunch of students at the start of the session
Safe environments for girls , greenery around the campus

Dislikes

Lots of insects and bugs due to lot of plants
Very strict and abiding academic calendar
Attendance is mandatory at least 75percent

Admission:

The few parameters that I compared the college is on bird ranking ,the course I wanted and the average package of the students in my course My decision was largely dependent on josaa counseling as well

Likes

Our college has a very good research culture. Making it one of the best second tier iit.
Profs are young and are understanding and tech very well.
The acedemics of our college is one of the best in India.

Dislikes

Our college has a little underdeveloped campus. Although the buildings that are made are pretty well. But things like indoor court are missing. But it has been said that it will be made available soon
The investment in clubs is a little less i think. Our colleges primary focus is on academics
There is no swimming pool which wveryone in our college dislikes

Admission:

To take admission in this college you will need to crack jee advanced with a decent enough rank. For cs vranch in general category the cutoff was about 2000 rank. I chose this college over other as it is closer to my hometown(mohali) and as my teachers told me it had a good reputition for computer science branch

Campus life of IIT Ropar

Likes

The hostels are quite good and well maintained.
The overall campus is large. It provides a very spacious environment.
There is no time limit for the entry and exit in the hostel premises.

Dislikes

The mess food is not quite good as expected.
There is no dedicated shop for dairy products.
The college is a bit far from the main city. So, people have to travel to buy any stuff they want to buy.

Admission:

I got this college through JoSAA Counselling and there is a rule that if you get any seat in IIT in the last round of JoSAA Counselling you either accept it or you will never get any seat in IIT in the future. So, I took a seat in IIT Ropar.

A deep dive into IIT Ropar

Likes

Availability of labs and all machines for education which helps us to understand easily the concepts of the subject
The fests and events for students who can show their real potential and talent including dance,sports,singing,art,acting,games etc
availabilty of canteen and utility shops like Coffee shops and Canteens so that students can have some good food at any time when they are stressed

Dislikes

i disliked the mess menu , i am from south india we eat very spicy food but the collge is in north so in mess the food is not spicy as i wished
i disliked one thing in sports court we do not have one badminton indoor court to practice/play

Admission:

The other collges i apllied was the 2 ties IITs IIT gandhinagr IIT Hyderabad IIT Varnasi IIT roorkee IIT Patna and in these colleges i got a confirmed admission for IIT patna ,i choose this collge over the college because I need a good branch in a good big college which has good infrastrcuture and good faculty and good available labs for students who can study better and do good in future .Yes, I got a rejection from the other colleges which i apllied in my counselling time .I did not make it there because the rank which i got in my advance exam was little less and my category is also general so i was not able to get a collge which i Have apllied for .The admission process of my college was not bit hard it was easy like we need to apply in josaa counselling after the exams ,the eligibilty for the admission is we should get the qualification marks in our advanced exam the cutoff for these exams was according to our category for genaral it was 30% for each subjects and the overall admission experience was good ,there was not trouble

The guide to IIT Ropar

Likes

The DNA structure at the entry of college looks really good at night.
Also the campus is pretty green and clean.
We also have LHC and Audi in proximity saving time.

Dislikes

There are several dogs in the campus, and so I feel scared walking alone in night.
Also there are several cases of bicycle stealing. Even my circle got stolen.
The hostel is a little far from the lecture hall complex.

Admission:

I got this college from josaa allotment. I also applied for IIT Guwahati in ece branch above my current branch and college. But due my rank being more than req, I was unable to get it. But thinking about my college, it's pretty good in all aspects such as research, an amazing fest such as Zeitgeist and all.

Yes, scoring 308 in the JEE Advanced 2021 is enough for computer science in IIT Ropar because if a student is scoring such a high score, then definitely the rank would go below 1000.
