IIT Ropar is now accepting applications to its courses. IIT Ropar offers admission for all the UG & PG courses based on the national-level entrance tests. IIT Ropar offers B.Tech at the UG level, which is the flagship course of the institute. The institute allows admission to its B.Tech program through JEE Advanced. JEE-qualified candidates are required to register for the JoSAA counselling process to participate in the seat allocation. Admission:

To take admission in this college you will need to crack jee advanced with a decent enough rank. For cs vranch in general category the cutoff was about 2000 rank. I chose this college over other as it is closer to my hometown(mohali) and as my teachers told me it had a good reputition for computer science branch

I got this college through JoSAA Counselling and there is a rule that if you get any seat in IIT in the last round of JoSAA Counselling you either accept it or you will never get any seat in IIT in the future. So, I took a seat in IIT Ropar.

A deep dive into IIT Ropar

Admission:

The other collges i apllied was the 2 ties IITs IIT gandhinagr IIT Hyderabad IIT Varnasi IIT roorkee IIT Patna and in these colleges i got a confirmed admission for IIT patna ,i choose this collge over the college because I need a good branch in a good big college which has good infrastrcuture and good faculty and good available labs for students who can study better and do good in future .Yes, I got a rejection from the other colleges which i apllied in my counselling time .I did not make it there because the rank which i got in my advance exam was little less and my category is also general so i was not able to get a collge which i Have apllied for .The admission process of my college was not bit hard it was easy like we need to apply in josaa counselling after the exams ,the eligibilty for the admission is we should get the qualification marks in our advanced exam the cutoff for these exams was according to our category for genaral it was 30% for each subjects and the overall admission experience was good ,there was not trouble

Admission:

I got this college from josaa allotment. I also applied for IIT Guwahati in ece branch above my current branch and college. But due my rank being more than req, I was unable to get it. But thinking about my college, it's pretty good in all aspects such as research, an amazing fest such as Zeitgeist and all.

Admission:

I gave jee advanced exam and according to my results and as my priority was cse branch so i chose iit ropar over other colleges. I didn't gave any other exam other than jee mains and jee advance so i had only this best option

Are students allowed to change branch at IIT Ropar?

Yes, students are allowed to change the branch at IIT Ropar. But, they can change the branch at the end of the first year only, they are not allowed to change the branch in the mid of the second or third year. Apart from that, students should satisfy various criteria such as CGPA for GEN / OBC category students: - >7.50. CGPA for SC / ST / PD category students: - > 6.50.

For the B.tech course, the total intake is 324 at IIT Ropar. This is the flagship course of this institute. Apart from that, the admission depends on the valid scores for JEE Advanced exam. The total course fee is Rs 9.44 Lacs.
