A honest review for my University

Likes

The ratio of girl's in the university was more compared to boy's.

Dislikes

Actually the tution fees was a bit costly for the students

Campus placement facility for this university is quite active and students gets the opportunity to work in different sectors with the help of this university. The package is also quite good enough to start your career with.

University of Science and Technology Meghalaya

Likes

Campus location. The university campus is located on hills of Meghalaya. The university has used all the possible resources to enhance the beauty and the greenery.
Library facilities. The university provides 24/7 library facilities for hostel wards and for day scholars it is till 7 pm
Events. University administration always organises different events like some competition, guest lacture, music concert and trip and all.

Dislikes

Placement. There is no placement at my time but recently I heard that few microbiology students are placed in good company. Few students from MBA department also get placed in companies like ITC and all.
Laboratory. The laboratory facilities is very poor. Their is no proper instruments and those who were there was not working properly. It was difficult to do practicals in laboratory.
Food. The quality of food inside the campus is very bad and totally unhygienic. Even few students have found cockroach, lizard and even rat in their food.

Course Curriculum Overview:

Biotechnology is very new field and specially in India and it required many investment like different lab instruments and mechanics. USTM was running the course like B. Sc. Biotechnology, M. Sc. Biotechnology Ph. D and all but they didn't have that many resources.

For better education choose USTM

Likes

The teachers are very helpful and kind and they clear our doubts properly
There is a seminar where a particular topic is given to student which they have to present it boost their confidence
The library is very big we can find many useful books to read and borrow

Dislikes

There are lot of assignments and practical to do every day

Course curriculum is a bit lengthy but interested in microbiology we have subjects like fundamental of microbiology application of microbiology for example medical microbiology and industrial microbiology then we have mammalian physiology and biochemistry too

My College Time

there are a little more restrictions than others , which I don't feel that uncomfortable. Maybe it's necessary for some point of view. Like we are not able to bunk our classes easily.
It's surrounded with greenery all around.
We have regular classes and the professors and the staff are quite good and knowledgeable.

Dislikes

Our classes start from 9am to 4pm. And we have only 1hour break. I feels so hectic. We use to reach hostel almost after 5pm .
I think they should conduct the practical classes more efficiently.
I think they should have limited seats for every course. Because when there are too much students it's not easy to learn.

Course Curriculum Overview:

I would give a 6.5 on 10 for the course that I'm pursuing. Coz it's nice and I'm liking. But I think they should concentrate more on our practical knowledge. Because it's totally a applied course. In most of our practical classes, we are not able to perform the practicals in a proper manner. Because the faculty obmy explains the protocal, and the rest we have to do it on our own. Atleast they should have firstly showed us how should we perform, then we can understand better

Detailed review of USTM

Likes

Ambient atmosphere, serene environment, and clean surrounding
Well organised schedule, regular classes and extra classes for doubt sessions
Good faculties , teaching , regular amenities available inside campus , gym , horseriding , etc

Dislikes

Way too strict regarding dress code , hostel timing

Placement Experience:

The final years student are eligible for campus placements , many banking companies visited the campus and the average package was 15-25k the highest was 54k ... I don't know the exact student percentage who got the placement but it was quite good

GREAT UNIVERSITY,YOU'D LOVE IT

Remarks:

Because it is peaceful, colder and with beautiful scenery. Professors there are extremely good and motivating. Free UPSC and NET classes provide after college with bus facility. Greenery + many side activities which lets the students to enjoy and study well at the same time.

Remarks:

Good facilities provided by the University. Use of English in classes instead of local language. Cool and calm environment. I also like the library wherein you can find any books you want or need unlike other colleges. The cafeteria provides clean and hygienic foods.

My Review

Remarks:

As it is still an upcoming University, it has room for improvement for sure. The campus is still building up. During monsoon the route is a concern for which chancellor sir is working with. But provided the facilities in a commendable fee, it isn't a bad experience for sure. You'll not regret it. I had one of my best phase of life here, you could too.

My beautiful college

Admission:

My elder brother studied from this college and he helped me to get admission. so I filled an offline admission form which I downloaded from the college website. then I submitted the form with an amount of INR 700. Then, I find my name on the merit list and I submitted the photocopies of the certificate of High School, Character Certificate, NOC and address proof. Then the college provided me with the confirmation letter.

Good university for science and technology.

Admission:

The admission in our university was based on the marks obtained in the last qualifying examination. To get admission in this course, students have to qualify their 10 +2 examination with minimum 45 percent of marks in science with Mathematics and physics. After qualifying the marks requirement, students will be eligible for getting admission in this course.
