About USTM
The University of Science and Technology, also known as USTM in Meghalaya has been renowned for being the first Private University based on Science and Technology in North East India. Approved by UGC and AICTE, the university came into existence in the year 2008. The university has 11 undergraduate, 12 postgraduate, and 10 Ph.D. specializations. Admissions are done on merit basis for various UG and PG courses. Some courses need university prescribed entrance test merit marks. Admission to MBA is done via USTM-CAT followed by group discussion and personal interview. For selection to Ph.D., candidates are selected based on performance in academics, entrance tests, and interviews.

Candidates seeking admissions to UG and PG level courses must satisfy eligibility norms before applying for a course. Some admissions are done through entrance exams while some are done on the basis of previous qualifying exam marks.
How to Apply?
- Fill the online application forms available on the college website. The cost of application form is INR 700 which can be paid via net banking, credit card or debit card. The cost of the MBA application form is INR 1,000 and INR 2,000 for Ph.D.

The college has really affordable fees structure. Cutoffs for exam is 30% and only those who attend cam appear for exams. It is really fair for everyone who attends regular classes in the institution. It has smart classrooms too.

USTM is a number one private university in the north east India. Admission process in this university is very easy the administration staff very good they will help you in every steps and no difficulties you will face

- The admin staff is too rude sometimes which can make the public unhappy
- Fees are high and they always increase the fees especially the sem fees and exam fees

USTM is quite expensive but they provide scholarships for those studenta who are financially struggling and also to zero fee payments to nearby community people who are unable to pursue higher studies. This is the reason i like about USTM and also because it's under the state Meghalaya, and only private universities that has medical college and NAAC A Accredited

- The most amazing part of the ustm is the faculty members they are so much lenient and free. They are so convenient and helpful. All the faculty members are young as well.
- Secondly, the ustm also pay more attention in employing the students those who did their masters and phd from ustm itself
Dislikes
- The USTM focuses on mostly academics other than academics there are less number of recreational activities like general freshers, some big concerts and dont mostly focus on sports
- The ustm dont allow females students so much freedom. They are not allowed to stay in campus after 5:00 of clock in the evening not even in the library
Admission:
First and foremost, i did my bachelor's from the same university itself and it is pretty much easy for me to communicate and locate my opportunities. The first reason i took admission in this university is that I didn't get an opportunities to pass in the cuet exam like i wanted to do masters in TISS Guwahati but due to failure to satisfy the cut off that is of TiSS Guwahati. The second reason is that the ustm has offered a concession of 30% off on masters if we take admission in masters those who did their bachelor's. So it is pretty much good for us to take admission and besides if i had to go for private then why would i choose other university besides ustm. The reason for me choosing ustm is that the people are all familiar and good since i did my bachelor's from here itself. So it wouldn't be so hard to decide whether to choose this or others. The admission process is simple unlike others. First we need to register ourselfs and go for form fill up like details about all my previous academics. The cut off for eligibility in my course is 45% aggregate in the previous exam.

I got offer letters from St. Xavier's College, Mumbai for the course B.Sc(Economics) And from Hindu College, University of Delhi for B.Sc(Physics) And from St. Josephs college, Bangalore for bsc I didn't choose those colleges because I wanted to do my bachelors in arts

- Infrastructure of USTM is so beautiful and greenery is everywhere.
Dislikes
- There is no equality in girls and boys. Hostellers of girls hostel only are not allow in the canteen after 5 pm but boys can, even warden or any other faculty who stay in the hostel they also are not allowed but boys can.
Admission:
Ustm is best for microbiology in north east that's why i choose the university. And the infrastructure is so beautiful that everyone will love. You can take admission here in online and offline. At first you've to register then you can take admission.

- there are a little more restrictions than others , which I don't feel that uncomfortable. Maybe it's necessary for some point of view. Like we are not able to bunk our classes easily.
- It's surrounded with greenery all around.
Dislikes
- Our classes start from 9am to 4pm. And we have only 1hour break. I feels so hectic. We use to reach hostel almost after 5pm .
- I think they should conduct the practical classes more efficiently.
Admission:
The admission process was quite simple. I applied for this college only because I didn't get seats in any other Government/ Central University. Mainly that was the reason. Because I didn't want to take a drop after 12th.

- The central auditorium is the largest in the Northeast region of India.
- The campus is filled with greenery and is very big as well which provides a very good campus life to students
Dislikes
- In a hot and humid place where the university is situated, there is no provision of AC in the classrooms
- Very hectic schedule. The classes are very hectic for any department and course. We never get off classes and that's why it becomes too much for ya students to be there in the campus from morning 9 to evening 4
Admission:
I gave CUET and applied for Delhi University, Tezpur University and Cotton University. I got in Tezpur University but didn't go there since I had already started attending classes here in USTM. The admission process of USTM is quite simple as if you get more than the required criteria of marks in your 12th board exams i.e 45% for most departments then you just have to pay the fee and you can get in.

The first year fee of USTM Ri Bhoi B.Sc. Biotechnology is INR One lac seventy thousand. The second and third year fees of the course are the same INR One lac sixty thousand.
