PhD in Ministry for those who have completed Doctor of Ministry (DMin to PhD)

A candidate with a D. Min obtained from a recognised board or University may pursue a PhD that will take a minimum of one year, provided the research study is based on, or a continuation of the D. Min research project to meet PhD level of research.

Eligibility

A D. Min Degree from a recognised University/Board approved by the Academic Committee of Theology and Religious Studies.
The candidate should have a minimum of three years of experience in Pastoral/teaching Ministry.

Duration

Minimum duration of One year.
The PhD duration shall be counted from the admission date, i.e., the entrance test results’ announcement
The maximum duration shall be three years, extendable up to another year only in exceptional circumstances subjected to the approval of the Doctoral Committee.
After the candidate has completed three years and any permitted extension period, the candidate who wishes to continue the PhD programme will have to be re-admitted, including the entrance test and payment of the fees current at the time of the new application. Such candidates must petition the Doctoral Committee for approval to re-apply.

Admission Process

The candidates shall apply to the University in the prescribed form, attaching the required documents and fees. Besides, the candidate shall submit an essay of about 500 words on why the applicant wishes to do a doctoral study for the degree applied and a tentative research proposal of approximately 1500 words with 5 to 10 academic references.
The DMin to PhD candidates is exempted from the written entrance test.
The DMin to PhD candidate is expected to pursue the research study based on their previous research work completed for their DMin degree. Hence, they are exempted from coursework depending on their performance in the interview on their research capabilities.
Such candidates must obtain approval for their research proposal within three months of admission into the programme, in order to be placed in the regular PhD programme. The tentative research proposal presented for the interview during admission cannot be taken for granted as an approved research proposal. A research proposal in the given format should be submitted within three months of the date of admission.
The candidate shall not have simultaneous PhD registration with other Universities/Institutions.

Learn to appreciate where you came from

The peace and harmonious environment of the university is the thing I like most about MLCU.
I also like the other extra curricular educational facilities and opportunities MLCU provides to the students

Dislikes

Due to huge campus, you will have to walk a lot

Admission:

The admission process vary depending on the department of school and for me, personally the admission process for my course was easier. The application form can be found in the university website and the application fees 1000 rupees and probably June is the last date for submission of application form and admission. My department requires the eligibility with good remmendation and remarks, plus determination and clear decision of the students in opting the course.

I did the admission from the website. And had no problem while doing. I got a quick response from them too. It was easy to understand and gave a nice instructions form. It was long since i did so I don't remember it much.

The availability of libraries, canteens, lounge for students to visit and work is another aspect that I liked.

The admission process was quite easy, we had to submit all our paperwork of our previous graduation and based on that we were selected for the course. The only aspect I think that needs improvement would be, the checking of the background of each student so that it resonates with the subject that they are choosing.

Honestly, I would like if the University has more open campus.
That there is two campus. No grab and Umsauli. We did it get to see and know each other as we are in different campus.

Admission:

The admission process was quiet easy and convenient. We go to the university website and through online, we registered and pay the required amount. With that the admission was done. Any graduates from any background can get admitted to the particular course so it is really an opportunity for the students who wants to shift their interest field. The admission procedure was fine and easy. When I do the admission, I took the contact number of the help desk which was given in the University website and I was asking help from it and I got a response on time which really makes me happy.

People are good here and friendly to each other.
The place is good because not far from the main town .
The campus has almost all the department.

Dislikes

The campus has no proper to seat around .
Some department look down on each others department.

Admission:

Post graduate and application forms were available online and fees done online. For reservation benefits we need to go through certain format and submission of application. Admission process is better online because it gives less difficulties for people staying outside of the city .

The admission process in Martin Luther Christian University is very good because I apply it online . The day i have apply , on the same day i get a message from the university that i have got the admission. There is no entrance exam. The eligibility of the course that i have apply is bachelor of Social work. The application form I get it through online, the application fees also I pay it through online. The application date is on 20 august 2021.Make the application process user-friendly, with easy-to-navigate online forms and accessible information for all applicants.
