Fees and Financial Aid:

Rough estimate for a general candidate is 1.8 lakhs although Gen-EWS an SC St have to pay 2/3 of the fees and the ones with income less than 1LPA and OBCs only have to pay 1/3 of the actual fees There is no such provision for hostel fees. for everyone it is the same roughly around 40000

NIT Hamirpur has a fairly reasonable fee structure compared to private colleges, and the best part is that it remains stable without sudden hikes. For me (general category)as student the yearly cost is about ?2,06,200 including tuition, hostel, and mess, while in the first year it comes to about ?2,13,200 because of admission and caution charges. For SC, ST, PwD, and students from families with income below ?1,00,000 there is a full tuition fee waiver, so the total expense is around ?60,000 per year which covers hostel and other compulsory charges. For families with income between ?1,00,000 and ?5,00,000 two-thirds of the tuition fee is waived, so the yearly expense is about ?1,00,200. The institute also provides many scholarship opportunities such as merit-cum-means, Top Class Education for SC and ST, Kalpana Chawla scheme, Samsung Star Scholar, and various central and state government scholarships. These options ease the financial burden for deserving students, and many of my batchmates have benefited from them. Overall, the fee and scholarship system at NIT Hamirpur feels student-friendly and ensures that financial constraints do not become a barrier to pursuing education here.

Fees is around 80 k per semester for people belonging to general category, It is around 40 k per semester for people belonging to category with family income between 1 lakh to 5 lakh and it is around 20 k for people belonging to SC/ST or with family income below 1 lakh. Apart from them we also have various types of scholarships for people belonging to home state as well as other state and students can avail that by signing in the national scholarship portal.

odd sems and even sems fees generally varies and also there is different fees for diffrent castes like GEN,SC,OBC,ST and In GEN caste there is a division on the basis of income like if income is less than 1 lakh , between 1-5 lakh and full fee for greater than 5 lakh generally for 1 lakh income aroun 14k per sem and for 1-5 lakh around 33k per sem and above 5 lakh around 75k per sem.

1st year - 20000 2nd year- 15500 3rd year- 14780 4th year - 12500 yes, I applied for a scholarship but did not receive any amount from Samaj Kalyan. all four years I applied but did not get any penny from the Samaj Kalyan scholarship. I never understood the procedure to get these scholarships because some of the students got the scholarship for all year.

So the open and obc fees is 1.66 lakh and the sc and st fees is around 40k also for income less than 1 lakh is 40k and for income 1-5 lakh is 80k also it increases every year around 2 percent . Scholarship are available for some some students based on merit

Life at NIT Hamirpur.

My fee for the first year was almost 2 lakhs for general category and for other categories it was 50 thousand, 50thousand and 1lakh for SC, ST and OBC respectively. There are a lot of scholarships like Economically Weaker Section and sports etc.

Branch Upgradation is not possible now from one branch to higher demanded branch

I being in general category is paying around 2.4 lakhs per year . However the college provides great scholarships to Categories like SC/St/OBC/Gen EWS. So fee structure goes like this lets take 2nd and 4th semester to be in consideration Gen - 83100 SC/ST/OBC - 20600 Gen (Annual Income Less than 1 lakh) - 20600 Gen(Annual Income between 1 lakh and 5 lakh) - 41433 Foe 6th sem _ this becomes 76450 , 13950 , 13950 , 34783 respectively. FOr 8th sem - 75750 , 13250 , 13250 , 34083 Hostel fees - for 1st sem - 40000 which included some security amount For 2nd sem onwards this is just 26000 I have some friends in other categories that I mentioned above.

My experience

The fees for the course of my odd semesters ie. 1,3,5,7 is nearly 60000 and the fees for my even semesters ie. 2,4,6,8 is nearly 83000. The hostel fees for all the semesters is 40000. It sums upto approx 9 lakhs for four years of my course.
