Likes
- It has one of the most beautiful campus and it it is surrounded by greenery all around. There is 95% placement in mechanical engineering which is my department. We have grand fests like hillfair which is cultural fest and nimbus which is technical .
- We have various cultural and technical clubs and societies which we can join according to our interest and we can join it by giving interviews taken by our seniors.Apart for them we have sports club ,gym with various equipments
- Hostel food is good ,we get all the basic nutrients required in hostel and four meels is there. Apart from them we have good food shops in campus like verka , Amul ,pooja shopping centre ,food court ,food plaza
Dislikes
- There is a lot of restrictions to girls . Intiming is 6:30 for the first year and 9:30 for the rest . And no outings are allowed at the initial period in campus
- There is road connectivity issue as airport as well as railway station are very from college and there is very small market nearby
- Many people here fall in drug abuse and even the professors are very strict and not student friendly
Course Curriculum Overview
This couse provides uss bookish knowledge as well as training experience as we have central workshops. As well as I was interested in core so that' why I choose this course.so it prepares you well for real world applications. This course can be improved by giving more workshop class than writing exams. The exams are quite difficult and happen 4 times per year which makes it hectic and depressing for students and faculty easily give supply as we require 40 percent to pass
Internships Opportunities
We can do interships under professor in summer as well as winter holidays in July or December . And we can make project under professor . Like in mechanical we have dilshad sir working on a project to remove leaves from big building by a machine and we can work under them also they have good contacts from where we can get good interships in reputed colleges even iit
Placement Experience
Placement rate is good in mechanical engineering which is Almost 90 percent and average package is 6-8 lakh . From seventh semester students become eligible for college placement. And many good companies visit like Jsw ,adani ,realiance and many more. Highest package is 1 crore but it was in it sector. After getting degree I will opt for placements
Fees and Financial Aid
Fees is around 80 k per semester for people belonging to general category, It is around 40 k per semester for people belonging to category with family income between 1 lakh to 5 lakh and it is around 20 k for people belonging to SC/ST or with family income below 1 lakh. Apart from them we also have various types of scholarships for people belonging to home state as well as other state and students can avail that by signing in the national scholarship portal.
Campus Life
We have cultural fest like hillfair , onam , ganesh chaturthi and almost every festival is celebrated and we also have technical fest like nimbus . We have huge Library with more than 1 lakh books of varios author and various subjects. In classroom we have white board as well as smart board to study with ppt and visualization. There are various clubs for sports as well as cultural activities for showcasing your talent like nati ,music , dravida where students dance , sing and make a family . We also have ncc , bss and various society like revanta , iste , robotics
Hostel Facilities
In hostel for girls we have to share room with 6 girls and in second year with 1 or 3 girls . We are given four meels a day and we get all food requirements and food quality is good. Hostel fees is 40 k for odd semester and 30 k for even. We have shared bathroom as well as washroom and washing machine, laundry . Outside campus in anu market we can get room
Admission
I applied just in government degree college , kullu where I opted bsc but this college is far better than Kullu College in terms of facilities to faculty, as well as ranking , reputation. We can get admission in this college by giving jee main and students get this by josaa and csab counselling online. AND cut off varies from branch to brach as well as category to category.Which can be easily visible in josaa and csab counselling portal
Faculty
Like taking about mechanical department , we have a quite good ratio of faculty to student ratio . In our class there are 126 peole which are divided in 2 section . Each section is taught by different faculties. Faculties are little strict and not that much student friendly but every faculty is well graduated from reputed college and has ample of work experience and they teach in a good manner with animations . But they are very helpful when it comes to interships or placement. Professor Sehgal is the best faculty I like as he teaches the course KOM in structured manner which is well understood by all the people in the classroom even the average people gets it . And we have 2 semesters per year and exams happen 4 times . One mid sem and one end sem per semester. Professors easily give supply and students can give supplementary exams and pass it. Course curriculum is as per new education policy and is very relevant.
Night Life
We have separate gyms for boys and girls in SAC. We have a huge Library and an electric vehicle which is free for going from one place to another in campus. We have various cafe's like verka ,sp , amul ,food plaza to have delicious food. Campus intiming for first year is 6:00 pm and rest 8:00 pm and hostel intiming is 6:30 pm for first year and 9:30 for rest. We have huge ground for helicopter landing and playing , Open air theatre , auditorium. It is safe to hang at night.
