Nit Hamirpur - A beautiful Nit

Course Curriculum focuses on a practical application and instead of burdening students it makes them efficient for Startup ideas and further professional life. Along with core subjects , college focuses on communicatio skills , ethical values, entreprenuership etc . Sometimes teachers take it lightly and preassumes that students would do it easily as they have come after clearing jee , this should not occur. 4 times in a year exams take place . 2 mid sem and 2 end sem

The program called Student Internship Programme take place under which internships in startups take place . Wipro and Tata are taking special interest in offering Internships . Some students are also working on internships with professors of IIts.

In this time when most of colleges are losing companies to reach and many students are remaining unemployed companies are still reaching our institute . Collge runs a Startup internships program in which many startup companies reach our college and pick students for paid internships , College is also promoting startups by providing funds thorugh projects like E- Crescendo . On campus Plcements start from 3rd year . Highest package was from my own branch Dual Cse that was a year before that was 1.73 crores per annum. Average package reported is currently 18 lakhs per annum. In mechanical branch it was 100 % placement rate. overall it was around 70 % placement rate . My plans after getting degree is to get a job experience then start my own startup idea. compsnies visiting were accenture , infosys , godrej , samsung , capgemini , ibm etc

I being in general category is paying around 2.4 lakhs per year . However the college provides great scholarships to Categories like SC/St/OBC/Gen EWS. So fee structure goes like this lets take 2nd and 4th semester to be in consideration Gen - 83100 SC/ST/OBC - 20600 Gen (Annual Income Less than 1 lakh) - 20600 Gen(Annual Income between 1 lakh and 5 lakh) - 41433 Foe 6th sem _ this becomes 76450 , 13950 , 13950 , 34783 respectively. FOr 8th sem - 75750 , 13250 , 13250 , 34083 Hostel fees - for 1st sem - 40000 which included some security amount For 2nd sem onwards this is just 26000 I have some friends in other categories that I mentioned above.

Annual Festivals include Hillfair which take place around september and holds for 3 - 4 days . Tech event is the Nimbus event in around March Other is a entrepreneur event called as E Summit occuring around march. Range of books available in library is vast and almost all books are available . Fewdays Back I issued Srinivasa Ramanujan The Lost Notebook which is a Extinct Book. ClassRooms consists of full fledged Projector and 2 big screens , brightness contolled lighting system in lecture halls which is fully air conditioned . A big ground is provided for outdoor sports . A special building called Student activity center comprises of Gyms , Ball pool , Swimming Pool , Yoga center , chess room , squash center , Table tennis , badminton etc and all of these are maintained so good . There are so many clubs and societies in college. these compete with other colleges and some of them are highly reputable and had won against IITs and Other NIts . For Ex - Robosoc , Rhythmeecz , E-cell etc

Rooms include fans , almirahs, 2 power sockets available for each person , beds, study tables etc . Elctric kettles are allowed . In girls hostel you may even get washing machiens to wash own clothes otherwise you have a laundry which need to be paid . Meal Quality and taste of menu is excellent . Proper care of nutrition is taken by providing protein and carbs in proper qunaitity. Registration occurs for one time at physical reporting to college

Addmision to this college takes place on basis of ranks in Jee Mains Exam . I prioritesed it over nit jaipur nit surat nit delhi becuase of a better coding culture. NIt hamirpur has one of the best coding culture.

Faculties are all friendly and there is a good number of faculties including professors and assistant professors. Speacially Khushboo mam from Communication skills and Navneet sir from Physics are nice and student friendly teachers . There are Mid sem and End sem hence total 4 exams in a year . Exams are easy as compared to the Jee which was their selection criteria . A good CGP can be maintained with a sufficient input.

Nightlife is till 11 pm in normal days . Events like Hillfair goes till 1 am with a lot of fun like dance , bands , concerts , etc . there are so many cafes and food booths which offers delicious food and drinks . There is a huge and beautiful student park where students can visit and enjoy these snacks in day sunshine as well as Evening sunset. Another place to hangout is Veruka Food booth . Rest is a 4-H Food Court in hands with a beautifull park in front of it.Rest staris around Ground is a perfect place to witness the sunset and sunrise .
