Our course has been updated in accordance with the new guidelines provided by the UGC. Although we were supposed to have industrial experience, we were unable to go on the exposure tour due to the lockdown.
I have also applied for internships at 2 more companies and am waiting for their reply.

Dislikes

The scholarships are offered to meritorious students, but only a few qualify for them as there were not many eligible students

Unveiling the JGU Experience: A Student's Perspective on O.P Jindal Global University

hostels are great, campus infra is amazing, teachers are excellent
exposure is good, guest lecturers are top of the field, networking opportunities are fantastic, further studies opportunities are good

Dislikes

a little overcrowded, the food can get very repetitive over time
some teachers are under qualified in courses that overlap with other schools not just law school

Placement Experience:

there is ppo at the end of the fourth year and also placements at the end of the fifth year. the tier 1 law firms all come for placements but only around 30-50 people get placed which is not very great considering the batch size is around 1000. the minimum required CGPA for sitting for placement is 7.5/8 and some packages included over 12LPA but has gone as high as 40LPA as well but this is rare. it is not uncommon however to see over 20LPA.

The Jindal Experience

Likes

There is always fun events constantly happening on campus. If you are bored there is always something to do.
The faculty is incredible. They make very lengthy subjects feel comprehensible.

Dislikes

It is very far from the city. Which can be isolating.
The mess food is sometimes unappetising and since it is vegetarian it is hard to get used to.

Placement Experience:

The college offers excellent placements at the end of the five years with the average package being fifteen lakhs per annum. 75% of students are place on zero-day. With the maximum packages being twenty-five lakhs per annum.

My college experience

Likes

The aspect of college that I appreciated was the availability of everything such as food, sports and extra curricular activities. The aspect I felt needed improvement was the attendance policy or the class sizes.
My engagement with campus life hasn’t been much but from what I can tell or have interacted with the people have been welcoming and nice.

Dislikes

The early morning classes or the lack of holidays
The class sizes as there was a lot of disturbance in the class cause of the size of students

Placement Experience:

I am not really sure about the campus placement as of right now as this is only my first semester in this college.My plans after getting the degree is to purse a masters course abroad. Hopefully I will be able to purse it

The college is great it has great facilities
The professors here are great and have a shit ton of experience

Dislikes

It may be a bit too costly for some people
Too much pressure exerted on students in assignments

Great internship opportunities

Likes

Really good crowd. You’ll mostly associate yourself with the kind of people who belong to your financial background. So it isn’t difficult to make friends
Great professors. Almost all of my professors are phd graduates that too from Ivy League universities. They have great experience in their respective fields too.

Dislikes

Alcohol and drugs supply is quite huge here which can destroy your college life
Can be a disadvantage for the people who don’t come from the equal financial background as most Jindal students. Can be depressing for them

Placement Experience:

I will most probably shift to UAE after college to gain work experience as I already have family there and talking about the placements that my uni provides, it has tie ups with amazing companies all over India so I don't think it'll be difficult to find a job after.

The course manual has good electives which will enhance our practical knowledge
The professors are understanding and the way subjects are made understood to the new students is great

Location cause it’s in remote area and lot of travel

Psychology has always been a subject, which interest and research which are being done in this field has always been interesting and wants you to learn more about it And curriculum and our University make us to do internships in our first semester break . I am the teaching method they use is really easy to understand and helpful and the research work and the papers we read are really helpful to us and we usually have assignments and semester exams which are really helpful for us, and I don't think so. It's difficult because it makes us know like what are position, knowledge about the course

Beginners guide to jgls

Likes

The faculty is very good with a lot of foreign professors
The library is filled with vast variety of books and is one of the biggest libraries

Dislikes

The drainage system inside the campus is very bad, any ammount of rain will lead to water clogging
The chief proctor office is very bad and doesn't do their work like they should

Placement Experience:

There is no placement offered for my course, but I have plans after graduating, I'll give clat again and other competitive exams which provides admission in 3 year LLB or I'll do my MBA from a business school outside India and settle their itself.

Jindal Global Law School - Yay or Nay?

Exceptional Infrastructure - running track, gymasium, several libraries, tennis courts, basketball courts, badminton courts, convinience and grocery stores, tailor, salon
The exposure granted - constant updates on Summer and Winter Schools collaborations with foreign universities as well as LLM Pathways programmes in collaboration with foreign universities as well.

Dislikes

Overcrowding - the campus is now being overcrowded with students who are getting admitted at minimal LSAT percentages as well. It feels like less of a college and more of a fisher market now
Degrading faculty - some experiences with faculty made us question the credibility of faculty being admitted into the college recently. Since student population is growing rapidly, the quality of faculty has also significantly decreased.

Placement Experience:

The placements of the college are only for creamy layer of students who are exceptionally well. Out of a batch of around 1200, only around 30-40 get placed in the campus placements. The placements provide job opportunities only for corporate side of law and none for litigation side of law. The Zero Day placements take place in the first month of the final year. The highest package goes up to around 19LPA while average is around 7LPA. Companies who come almost every year for law placements are - Trilegal, Khaitan & Co, Cyril Amarchand Mangaldas, Shardul Amarchand Mangaldas, Saraf and Partners, ICICI, Aquilaw, Wipro, EY etc. My plans after graduation are to work in a litigation office under an advocate in the Supreme Court.

MY THOUGHTS ON JINDAL GLOBAL UNI

Likes

The mess food has a lot of variety, is tasty, hygienic, Not repetitive, And you won't have to visit food courts regularly because the mess would be enough.
People around are quite friendly, And the college provides GYM, Sports facilities etc. Also conducts regular sport and e-sport related events.

Dislikes

We have to book the ticket to get our rooms cleaned/mopped. It'd have been better if it was automatically done.
I don't like the fact that cycles aren't allowed here. It would've been easier to cover the whole campus.

Placement Experience:

From 8th semester Students can sit for campus placements. Khaitan, AZB and Co., CAM, SAM are some of the frequent companies that visit. Highest placement offer made was around 25LPA. And average one was 12LPA Around 30% of the students get placed. I'm planning to sit for the placements.
