Likes

Financial helps are giving yearly to the toppers of each department.
This college is celebrating many activities like racaf the cultural fest , synergy the sports week and the shristi the technical fest in student can perform as per their interest .
Placement are good as nerist is the best college in northeast regions

Dislikes

Placement is there but very poor 40/500 students tata, vedanta, oil india , gr infra , srijan,pradan,sales companies a fiew max package is 9 lpa and lowestbis 2.16 lpa around 10/12% students gets placememt
Hostel facilities are not good as i can say it very average like fooding is not good , sometimes electricity issues occurs and water issues in the bathroom and basins and also drinking water cooler is stopped working sometimes
Internship fees are not being supported by college. although the travelling expenses are being payed from college

Eat, study, sleep and repeat

Likes

The newly built football ground with artificial grass.
The bus facility provided by the institution.
The new administrative block building in South campus.

Dislikes

There is no drinking water in college areas.
The old building should be re-new and colour them.
The garbage should be disposed properly in dustbin.

Placement Experience:

The students can apply for the campus placement in the final years only in the last semester. Various companies like oil, iocl, vedantu, etc cam for placement offers in the college. The average package in the college is nearly 5.5 lakhs annual.

It's a good college overall

I liked the atmosphere here and the greenry around here along with the mountains, it's such a soothing site to see and experience

Placement Experience:

Students after completing their BTech 3rd year are eligible to sit for campus placements based on their CGPA and no active backlogs. As per my knowledge which I heard from my seniors, there are some companies with high paying packages around 15-20 lakhs

I love the functions and events held and also the diversity of the state.

Dislikes

I hate the heat as im used to cool breeze living in Meghalaya. So i dislike the hot weather here which can get to 37 - 40 ° C during summers.

Placement Experience:

Campus placements are eligible for final year students after passing the exam and passing the interview by different companies who come looking for new interns. I dont know much about the companies who visits the institute.i dont much as well about the percentage of students getting placement not the highest and average package .

The faculties are very good and supportive. They help us us even in our silliest doubts and teaches us very well.

Dislikes

There is nothing that i don't like about our college

Course Curriculum Overview:

The courses are upto the point. neither hard not easy. Not only theoretically but also practically helps us to understand and prepares us for the real world.the exam timing are 2 hours for mid sem exam and 3 hours for end sem exam.

Mera NERIST

Likes

The environment here is good. There are lots of trees and the air here is very fresh and cool.
The faculty members here are very helpful and kind and are always ready to help you out with any type of difficulty.
The various extra curricular activities give a chance to try out new things and improve my talents.

Dislikes

The hostel rooms are the worst in condition. There could be new beds and tables and proper lightings in the bathroom and toilets.
The hostel food is very bad, the quality of the food can be increased and proper healthy foods can be provided.
The wifi speed can be increased and the connection should be made proper.

Placement Experience:

The placement cell of our college is very active. Many companies like OIL India and Vedanta come where the 12LPA is often offered. Almost some percentage of students get placement, if the class has a strength of 60 students then 5 or 6 of them get to sit in placement. My plans after getting a degree is to apply for job or get a job in a PSU company.

Likes

Good infrastructure and big campus surrounded by long green tree
24*7 library is open for students , so that students can prepare for civil service examination.
Green campus surrounded by hill.And its place is near 12km from its capital.

Dislikes

Shortage of water in big hostel during weekends .

Course Curriculum Overview:

In semester two exams are conducted mid-semester 30 marks and end-semester 50 marks respectively. All faculties are well qualified. A future application-oriented workshop will be held in a month. Many projects is done by graduate students.

Dream college

Likes

College fees is very less. Mess fee is very less.
College provide good opportunity for players who want to make their carrier in sports
The exams are held on time. New director is very good towards academic

Dislikes

Hostel infrastructure is poor. Need some improvement
Some maintainance is required in labs and workshops
Placement is not too good . Need some improvement

Placement is not too much good . Very few companies visited our campus ie TATA , VEDANTA , OIL etc . Mechanical branch have quiet good no. Of students placed but remaining branch placement is not too good

A day in my life at NERIST!

Likes

I like the infrastructure of my college.
I like the social activities held by the college.
I like the people in my college. It exposes me to people of various backgrounds.

Dislikes

I dislike some of the facilities such as AC provision, as its not applicable to all the students.
I dislike the strictness regarding curfew timings.
I dislike the decreasing amount of trees in the college to increase space.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The curriculum is well prepared and to the point, with comprehensible methods of teaching and also the syllabus is up-to-date, matching with the current technological trends. The curriculum can be improved by introducing more practical problem solving sessions dealing with real world problems, such as the ones in companies.

Liked the cultural festival of the institute RACAF
Liked the sports event organised in the institute
College provides very good experience for by being the part of NCC

Dislikes

There many programs are done by the institute which are forced by the Government that includes Azadi ka amrit mahotsav etc

Nerist " A comprehensive review"

Course Curriculum Overview:

Various activities in the institute such as cultural events, annual sports events and annual tech fest of the institute called Shristi where we invite guests for the talk show. Excellent lab facilities.
