It offers a great placement after the course completion, companies like microsoft, amazon google, flipkart and other companies like goldman sachs come to recruit new freshers in their companies and even offer internships as well.
The fests conducted in our college are worth enjoying and marvelous talent is encouraged.
No fees hike policy.cost to study is a bit high for a government organisation but it's worth it.scholarship opportunities financial assistance and job opportunities are very satisfactory over here.

Dislikes

The scholarship availability should not be below 5 lakh.. it should be a larger number beacuse 5 lakh income is lower income than a lower middle class family.
The faculty advisor is a very rude and strict person who doesn't understand the student's problems.
Placements for lower branches are not that good and being a remote area more companies are not coming to college

Campus Life is very nice in NITR although the night life has become strictier
Placement is good and is completely handled by CDC smoothly

Dislikes

Faculty and course curriculum can be much better
Many big companies still don't come for placements

Placement Experience:

From 3rd year students are eligible for internship opportunities and 4 th yr students are eligible for placements. About 100 to 150 companies visit every year. Many big companies visit like Microsoft , Amazon AWS, Disney plus hotstar etc which provide CTC of about 50 lpa.

NIT Rourkela Unveiled: A Students Perspective

Likes

the infrastructure of the college is pretty good and the facilites provided are very good
Labs in our college are well equipped with all the equipments necessary and one can learn more while doing which is pretty good in our case

Dislikes

There are no serious thing i dislike in my college but the huge campus area of our college makes us difficult to go here and there which is not complainable while we have bicycles

Placement Experience:

NIT Rourkela is reowned for its placement records all the students from 6th and 7th+ semester are eligible for placements there are diffrent types of companies from diffrent industries recruit from the campus large tech companies like microsoft, amazon, google, goldman sachs, visa..etc recurit from the campus and last year there are 6 offers from amazon which offred the highest packes of 54.2 lakhs from our collegeand there are also semiconductour vlsi companies like Texas Instruments quqlcom nivida intel samsung are also hiring from the campus offering a very good packages there are also core companies like tata, cummins, bajajauto, L&T,tata steel, vedanta and many more companies hiring the students for the core jobs and there are also consultancy jobs there are companies like delloite, Genpact, EXL, ICICI, IQUANTI...etc

Placement Experience:

From 7th semester students become eligible for campus placements. Almost all top companies like Microsoft, Amazon, Apple , Samsung, Nvidia, Qualcomm, Intel, Exxon Mobil, Jaguar, TATA steel, Morgan Stanley, BNY Mellon, etc visit the campus. Some PSUs like IOCL, GAIL,BPCL, etc also visit the campus on their requirement for electrical, mechanical, chemical branches. Highest package was offered by Ui Path which was 96 lpa and usually AWS / Microsoft are the 2nd highest packages with 54 and 52 lpa. Usually the placement percentage is more than 90% and is often more than 98% in top branches. My plans after degree is to join a FAANG company.

Placement Experience:

From 3rd year students become eligible for internships and From 4th year eligible for placements. Many companies visit to our campus for plcacements like Texas Instruments, Oracle, Accenture, P&G, Qualcomm, SAP Labs, Tata Steel Limited, Wells Fargo, Natwest, Mathworks, etc. There is around 1600 total offers made. Highest package is around 45LPA. Avg is around 12 LPA. This is almost same for all profiles. Almost 99% placement. Obviously placement. If not then GATE- MTECH

NIT Rourkela review

Likes

The things i like includes clubs and extra curriculars
Huge green campus, Grounds, gardens, Canteens.
Campus life is good, friend with different culture from different part of india

Dislikes

Attendence is most disliked in here as 85% attendance is needed
Less facilities available out side campus
Less mode of transportation for all kind of use

Placement Experience:

From 7th semester the placements starts for btech and 9th for dual degree. There are both type of compony that visit the campus for placement: core and non-core. Avg package is arround 13lpa. more than 95% studunets get placed.

NIT Rourkela has strong alumni network that includes successful professionals in various fields.
the institute holds various technical and cultural festivals that attracts participations from student across the country.
NIT Rourkela has a good placement record. Many reputed companies visit the campus for recruitment

Dislikes

the campus is located in Rourkela, which is relatively smaller town , a developed city is needed.
the weather is tropical weather, it has to face harsh climatic conditions such as heavy rain and high humid conditions
the campus requires new and modern infrastructure to accomodate new variety of students

Course Curriculum Overview:

Electrical engineering was that i opted for . It is one of the top branches and it has one of the highest average package in terms of placements.Also the curiculem is well diverse . Not only we were taught electrical but only electronics.

Things to know before joining NITR

Likes

All the clubs here are highly active and they provide us a broader perspective towards our interest.
Medical facilities are really good and neurologists are also available in our despensary.
The placement opportunities here are marvellous.

Dislikes

Restriction for outings in hostels after a certain period.
The way faculties teach really need to be improved.
In the campus a lot of stray dogs could be found which is quite scary

Course Curriculum Overview:

I was always interested in physics and mechanics, so in order to pursue a career in this field I chose this course.Faculty and student ratio is about 1:60 . Even though it's heard that faculties are highly qualified but still I feel they lack in teaching skills. Teaching method surely needs to be improved as till the day of exam we won't be sure about the syllabus. Per semester with a gap of 2 months midsem and endsem exams were conducted and for passing one has to study 2 weeks prior to exams.

Internal View on Nit Rourkela

Likes

College was very vast, You can chill with friends, If you are a southern guy, You can develop your Hindi and English language skills very well.
College have very good placements, You can develop your own skills and can have your own bet on placements to get placed
College was around 1300 acres and have so many things to roam around the institute.

Dislikes

I have not satisfied with mess meals and some other food items outside also.
Some what backward area, even though Rourkela was medium grade city.
Things like Disliked are very few but non satisfactory things will be there, You have to adjust

Placement Experience:

from 7th semester you are available for campus placements generally, So many visists the institue, I never taken attention to how many companies are visiting, but I have an Idea all decent as per studies are placed, if your looking for premium packaged placed well moderately averaged students will be present. for 22-23 year highest placed got greater 80lpa CTC by Microsoft. As previous said more than 90% students are placed every year. To have a decent job and to accumulate funds for MBA or MTech or to have my chance with Government jobs and Civil services.

NIT Rourkela: An In-Depth Review

Likes

The best about every college life is the Campus Environment, Club culture, sports activities
Different fests like Tech fests , cultural fests, sports fest and the best of all : The Celebrity Night

Dislikes

Somes the attitude of the professors gets to your nerves
The student activity Centre(SAC) , responsible for providing an opportunity for co-curricular activities is not transparent and doesn't provide sufficient funds for the development of the students

The campus placement start from the begining of the fourth semester( 7th semester). Many top tier companier come for placement such as Sprinkler, Microsoft, UiPath, Oracle, Texas Instrument, Qualcomm, Accenture, TCS, Deloitte, Amazon, American Express, Visa, Natwest, BNY, Barclays, Wells Fargo, SAP Labs, etc and many more. The highest Package offered this year was 64 LPA. Profiles offered are mostly related to Software development(SDE role). From my branch(CSE) a minimum of 98 percent students get placed every year.

KNOW ABOUT NIT ROURKELA -- THE PROS AND CONS

Likes

Very flexible time table and a lot of time will be getting for learn and explore new things.
class rooms were air conditioned and there are projectors in every class room.
infrastructure was good and faculty members are supportive and decent number of fests are being conducted every year i.e around 4 to 5.

Dislikes

placements for lower branches are not that good and being a remote area more companies are not coming to college

Placement Experience:

Coming to placement scenario.. 1)From 3rd year onward companies will come to hire you as an interns by giving internships that may be paid or unpaid. 2)We can try in different sectors like CORE,IT and we can study for abroad studies also. 3)If no placement happend we can go for GATE exam and CAT exam for MBA studies etc..that is abse don our intrest. 4)In our branch the placement stats tells around 90% students are placed.

A friend at NIT Rourkela gave me a detailed review of her college the last time she visited me. Here are some highlights from her descriptive experience

NIT Rourkela has a huge, serene, and well-secured campus.
The institute has diverse clubs that promote extracurricular activities and their performance is better than most clubs of other engineering colleges.
Decent Internet speed is offered and the Dc++ is well maintained.
The hostels are well-maintained and decked with all the basic amenities one could ask for.
Students are actively involved in sports such as gymming and swimming.
The faculties are a mixed bag. Some are underqualified and lethargic while some motivate you to become a better person.
The institute boasts of an extensive entrepreneurship culture.
The institute needs to work on increasing its alumni base and the level of fests it organizes given the huge income the institute generates.
The placement scenario varies from branch to branch. It's decent for branches like CS while pathetic for others.
Rourkela does not have any places to explore and also lacks flight connectivity.
The city of Rourkela is one of the cleanest places so hygiene is not an issue here.
