NIT Rourkela fee can be paid semester-wise, and SC/ST students are exempted from the tuition fee.

The National Institute of Technology (NIT) Rourkela, Odisha, has released the PhD (Doctorate) fee structure for 2026. The total academic fee ranges between ₹87,500 and ₹2.11 lakhs, depending on the program and hostel type.

The fee for general students is ₹67,000 (per semester), and ₹59,500 (per semester) for SC/ST candidates in the first semester. The fee includes tuition, hostel, and mess fees. From the second semester onward, the fee will be ₹54,500 for the general category and ₹47,000 for SC/ST candidates. Check the complete details on the official website on nitrkl.ac.in

Students applying for the NIT Rourkela also need to pay the Admission fee(one-time) of ₹ 2500. General students are required to pay ₹7500 as tuition fee for each semester, but SC/ST students are exempt from this fee. However, Other fees, such as Exam, Library, and Electricity, need to be paid ₹ 3000 for each semester. A non-refundable amount of ₹ 10,000 is also needed to be paid by the students.
