To gain admission to the college, applicants must submit an online application and send necessary documents by speed post, followed by a counseling session and merit list determination. The college is renowned for its excellence in remote sensing and Geography honors research. All faculty members have PhDs in remote sensing and GIS, with some having earned their degrees from prestigious institutions like IIT Kanpur, IIT Roorkee, and ITC Netherlands. Classes run from 8 AM to 5 PM, with weekly sessions featuring four 1-hour lectures.
The college's fee structure starts at 1 lakh INR for the first semester, then 75,000 INR for the second semester, and 83,000 INR for the last two semesters, totaling 4 lakh INR for the 2-year program. Despite being considered expensive, these fees are more affordable than those in other private universities. Security and mess deposits are required, but no extra fees are charged by the college. The placement cell helps with job applications, though its effectiveness is limited, and internships are not directly offered.
However, students can use the lab facilities in summer, and the Head of the Department helps with internship opportunities. All students eventually secure placements outside the campus. The college offers the GP Birla Fellowship of 2 crore INR and scholarships for students with a CGPA above 8.5 in the first semester. On-campus, there are two banks, State Bank of India and UCO Bank, offering convenient loan facilities for students.
