SBU Ranchi Admission
- For MBA admission, candidates need to have a valid CAT/XAT/MAT/CMAT/GMAT score. Candidates who have not appeared in any of the above-mentioned entrance tests have to appear for the SBU Entrance Test.
- Candidates seeking admission in B.Tech must have qualified either a National/ State-level entrance test like JEE Main. Whereas, a valid score in CLAT is required for all the Law courses. Candidates who have not appeared in any of the above-mentioned entrance tests have to appear for the SBU Entrance Test.
- The selection of candidates in the Diploma in engineering program is done through State-level Polytechnic Entrance Test/ SBU Entrance Test.
- Admissions to all other UG and PG programs are granted on the basis of merit scored in the last qualifying examination. No entrance exam is required.
- PhD admissions are based on PhD Entrance Test, followed by a personal interview. However, UGC-NET/GATE/JRF qualified candidates are exempted from PhD Entrance Test.

SBU Ranchi provides a wide range of scholarships based on the category of the candidates or merit of the qualifying examination. Given below are the SBU Ranchi Scholarships:
Scholarships, as Offered
SBU offers several scholarships to support meritorious students and those with needs for financial assistance:
Scholarships Based on Merit:
- Marks percentage: 95%: 50% fee waiver.
- Marks percentage: 90%: 25% fee waiver.
- Marks percentage: 80%: 20% fee waiver.
- Marks percentage: 70%: 10% fee waiver
Note: These scholarships are applicable to tuition fees only and do not cover hostel or transport.
Internal Merit Scholarships
- Top 10% of students: 25% waiver on tuition for the next semesters.

SBU Ranchi Facilities and Hostel
- Hostel: Sarala Birla University also offers accommodation facility. The SBU Ranchi Hostel fee for a Non-AC room which includes 4 times meals, and laundry facility for INR 51000 INR per semester.
- Library: The University has an ample and well-stocked library. It has a variety of pictures and digital reserves. Consideration and books are usable for the learners to obtain, as well as, e-books. Learners are issued a Library Card at the advent of the student's intellectual year that will be utilized for all library-related agreements.
- Transport: The University submits its students with pick up and declines facilities. It has a line of buses that utilize within a length of 100 km from the campus.
