BIT Mesra offers scholarships to students to help them financially based on their merit and needs. A scholarship worth nearly 2.5 crores is available for the meritorious students admitted to the BTech and BArch programs. BIT GP Birla Scholarship

The total amount for the BIT GP Birla Scholarship is 2.10 crores per annum. Suppose the no. of eligible students exceeds the available funds. In that case, the institute may revise the eligibility criteria to ensure that the total scholarship amount awarded does not exceed INR 2.10 crores every year. This scholarship covers either all part of tuition fees and dormitory costs and sometimes only the tuition fees. Given below are the different categories of BIT GP Birla Scholarships:

BIT GP Birla Scholarship: This scholarship is provided to meritorious students solely based on their academic performance in MO 2022. The cutoff for this category will be decided by the committee based on the available funds.
BIT GP Birla Scholarship for BTech and BArch based on AIR in JEE Mains: Candidates who will secure the prescribed ranks in JEE Mains for the BTech and BArch programs will be eligible to receive this scholarship.
BIT GP Birla Scholarship for MTech based on GATE percentile: Candidates getting admitted to the MTech program at BIT Mesra secure 90 percentile or above are eligible for this scholarship. The scholarship committee will decide whether this scholarship will be continued to the subsequent semester based on the academic performance in the previous semester.
BIT GP Birla Scholarship for B.Tech. under Immersive Summer Research Experience (ISRE) at Reputed Foreign Universities: The BTech candidates who will be selected for the BIT GP Birla Scholarship for B.Tech. under Immersive Summer Research Experience (ISRE) at Reputed Foreign Universities will be provided this scholarship. This scholarship will cover the position of expenses to be borne by BIT Mesra. The other parts of the expenditure are to be borne by the BIT Mesra Alumni-Association-North America (BITMAA-NA) and the student’s parents. The Dean of Alumni and International Relations will do the processing of the applications under this category.
BIT GP Birla Assistantship: This assistantship will be provided to the meritorious based on their merit and needs. Both the academic performance in MO 2022 and the family income will be considered for this scholarship. The cutoff for both considerations will be decided by the Scholarship Committee based on the applications received and the availability of funds.
BIT GP Birla Assistantship on Compassionate Grounds: The assistantship provided to the students on compassionate grounds is very limited. The norms applicable to this category considering the applications received and funds available will be decided by the Scholarship Committee. Also, a minimum level of academic performance is required.
BIT GP Birla Assistantship for Staff Wards: This scholarship is awarded to the staff wards who are studying various programs at BIT Mesra or at other campuses. The criteria to be eligible for this scholarship will remain the same as it was for the last semester. However, the Scholarship Committee might change the eligibility criteria based on the availability of funds.

Merit Scholarships based on the JEE Mains rank

BIT Mesra offers the following scholarships to the students of the BTech program based on their JEE Mains (CRL) rank. The tabulation below shows the scholarships offered to the different categories of students:

Merit-cum-means scholarship

The BTech and BArch candidates can avail of this scholarship only based on their academic performance in the previous semester. Also, the parent’s annual income should not exceed INR 3 LPA. The sudden demise of the earning member of the family:

In case any student has to face any financial problem due to the sudden demise of the only bread-earning member of the family, BIT Mesra will provide a 100% tuition fee waiver for the ongoing semester and a scholarship of up to 75% may be offered for the next semesters. This completely depends on the student's financial situation, overall performance, and needs. Candidates securing at least a 7.5 GPA or above in the previous semester are eligible for this scholarship. This scholarship can only be available from the second semester.

Total fees is 1451000 INR. Semester wise the install ment fees keeps increasing as follows 145700 for 2 sems 162500 for next 2 sems,179000 for the following 2sems, and 195500 for the last 2 sems plus 82700 INR for other amenities of clg.(Caution money, IT Development, Admission Fees) 232000 INR for Hostel +Mess fees during 8 sems. Integrated MSc has a Tuition +Caution +Admission +IT Dev Fee of 840700 INR. One interesting point i would like to mention is that they provide HP G10 Laptop Ryzen 5 to each student and it is compulsory to accept it. (Its cost is already included in the fees) For SC ST students with good rank in JEE Mains receive upto 100% tuition fee waiver. GP Birla Scholarship is merit based scholarship on basis of CGPA in each semester. It is category wise for all students.

Life at BIT Mesra

Fees and Financial Aid:

At the time of admission, we have to give ?291000 including admission charges, tution fees, technical fees, etc. this fee is for the 1st semester. After this the fee keeps on increasing every semester for about 5-10%. So, approximately total fees given to the administration is ?20,00,000. Fir hostel fees, ?20,000 is submitted for 1st semester; ?20,000 for 2nd semester; ?22,000 for 3rd and 4th semester; ?24,000 for 5th and 6th semester and ?26,000 for 7th and 8th semester. For mess fee we have to summit approximately ?30,000 every semester to the BIT Welfare Society. About scholarship:-90% scholarship is provided only to the students who have mare than 90 percentile in JEE . And 50% scholarship is provided to the children of staffs of BIT
