What Students Say
Likes
- All girls college which gives a sense of security in terms of safety and wellbeing
- Good location because it is located in Central Delhi
- Very close proximity with the metro station which one can even walk to
Dislikes
- The campus is really small and there is not much to roam about in college
- The ground is isolated and almost inaccessible
- Since it is located amidst government headquarters, it is difficult to find a decent accommodation
Course Curriculum Overview
The course curriculum is okay. It isn't the best but since it is centralised, the college plays no role in it. Being a BA Programme student, the syllabus seems slightly all over the place but it does manage to cover a lot of the subject
Internships Opportunities
The placement cell of the college works to bring in internships and placement offers as and when they get. Most of them are small startups or private companies. However for courses like Bcom or other courses related to commerce or computer science, there are a few MNCs that have also come for placement in our college. The average stipend might be 6-7k and the average package might be around 2-2.5LPA
Placement Experience
My course does not allow direct placements right after graduation since a lot of students tend to pursue higher education, but the college does have a placement cell that brings in different opportunities like internships and placements. The average package is probably about 2.5 LPA with companies like Bajaj allianz but since it is an off campus college, this isn't bad either
Fees and Financial Aid
The education here is fairly affordable. I am a student of BA program (economics and political science) and my yearly fees is around 25000. The examination fees is also minimal. However, courses which require practical or lab assistance cost slightly more than my course, like psychology. There are financial aids that are provided by the university that can be availed if you qualify.
Campus Life
There are a lot of societies and clubs that one can join here. We have 4 societies for different sorts of dance alone. In terms of societies and extra curricular, the college does provide a lot of options. Almost all of them are student led except a very few. We also have external social groups and NGOs that one can take part in. Overall the college has AC classrooms, they're few but some of them do work well. The classrooms are decent and most of them are functional
Admission
Since the selection is now through CUET, it depends on merit and not choice. I did not choose this college particularly but this was 21 in my preference list. I would have naturally preferred going for a college in north campus but this isn't too bad either. The curriculum remains the same regardless
Faculty
Since the college is relatively smaller, the student to faculty ratio is good. The economics department faculty is particularly chill and flexible about things, which is a good thing. However, there are some faculties who are inapproachable and very rigid. We have our internals in October which comprises from tests to presentations to assignments. But the number of assignments depends solely on the faculty
Night Life
The college is very close to CP which is one of the best getaways for college students. There are a lot of good spots in CP and even in Janpath to explore. There is Dyal Singh library very close to the college too. The college doesn't have a hostel yet but it's under construction right now. Some of my few favourites are tan coffee, nothing before coffee, Shri Ram Centre for Performing Arts, etc. The area seems safe but it is not a residential area so you might not see a lot of crowd at night time
