What Students Say
Likes
- The campus is really pretty which sort of hoes along with the only girls policy
- The staff is really helpful and cooperative and the teachers actually interact with us instead of giving us a lecture
- The size of the ground and the overall architecture
Dislikes
- some of the classrooms are really small and fitting a class in them is nearly impossible
- Sometimes professors cancel the class minutes before it taking place
- The canteen needs some improvement and inclusivity
Course Curriculum Overview
My course is BA english hons which is a 3+1 year course and allows you to pursue your PhD right after. My course explores not only literature but philosophy, science, psychology and analysing people and events through a writer's eye
Internships Opportunities
The stipend usually increases as your years spent in the college. Companies like wipro have been here and they've offered a 15-20k offer to the students of second year. The placement cell really works hard to get the students selected
Fees and Financial Aid
I paid 18k for a year in Gargi college, DU This includes all the fees except the department fee which is also optional, but the department suggests you to pay that as they organise fests and trips according to that collection. The fee for general category is also fairly cheap close enough to 20k. My college has a very active placement cell and offers campus placement every year. Various companies grant internships throughout all the courses. The fee is same as told and no extra charges have been taken
Campus Life
The campus is a great place to hang out and calm yourself down from the busy college schedule, it really gives you time and place to relax and reconnect to yourself. My college organises the event "reverie" every year and it's a full of fun 3 day long event and I promise you YOU WILL HAVE FUN HERE
Admission
I applied to all the top colleges in DU, gargi is one of the bests when it comes to humanities. So getting selected in gargi was really a joyous event for me. I thought for a while that I could've found a even better college if I had studied harder but giving to gargi has taught me that this is the best for me. The admissions take place through CUET exams and if your score is around 700+ /800, congratulations you can get into gargi very easily
Faculty
The faculty to student ratio is close to perfect, there's always someone available to help out. The exams are not that hard and mostly students pass them, the professors really put in the time and efforts to make students understand all the topics really well
Night Life
I haven't personally been to any nighouts but I'm sure people who live close to the college have found themselves roaming around the markets and streets at night, there's a huge cafe just across the road and it's perfect for a date
