Course Curriculum Overview
Economics Hons. is really practical subject. Most of the concepts can be correlated to our practical life. We can understand the current economic conditions via studying the course as well as predict also. By the way, syllabus is analysed every year by the experts and changes are made if needed any. Exams are sometimes find difficult but easy to do if studied thoroughly.
Internships Opportunities
A lot of internship opportunities are available to maximum students, I guess. Surely, all the technical courses have a healthy number of internships. These can be both - Paid and Unpaid. We get it on the basis of our skills, CV and LinkedIn profile most of the time.
Placement Experience
Economics Department of Hindu College gets the highest number of placements in while DU. I heard this. This is done only after completing bachelor's of 3 or 4 years. Many companies come here. Even, Relaxo has its own Research Centre in our premises. Average package is around 10 to 12 LPA.
Fees and Financial Aid
Total fees paid was around ?26,800 for a year. This is for unreserved category. It's lower for reserved section. I don't have clear idea about increasing fees. There are a lot of scholarships firstly for reserved section and then available for all the departments if perform well.
Campus Life
Amazing fests are organised time to time. The first big one is SURUCHI, organised by NSS, the Diwali fest which is quite amazing. Then, freshers is organised. In March-April, the biggest fest of DU - Mecca is organised which compromise around 35000 students. A big library of 3-4 floors with 2 big reading hall is available. Books on all the subjects, I guess except Psychology, are available. Sports is not paid too much heed but yeah, definitely played. Extracurricular via societies can be performed in almost any field. All the classroom are smart classrooms. ACs are limited to some departments.
Admission
The admission is majorly based on CUET Exam after which preference list of colleges with respective course is made and then respective cut off is released. If we met the criteria of 1st preference, then we are alloted the same otherwise next, next or next onwards... Different quotas and reservation also help in getting admission. Wards and sports quota is also here, which really make the difference. I put SRCC, St. Stephen's over Hindu but my score was lower than those. But, genuinely sharing, quite happy and satisfy to get Hindu College as I got a great exploration here which I had wanted.
Faculty
Students-Teachers ration is approx. 70:1. Faculty is genuinely engaging. They are available to us all the time. But sometimes because of over English, it become difficult for some time to understand. All faculties are nice. There are minimum five exams in 1st sem and can reach upto 7 on the basis of what subjects we chose.
Night Life
College gets closed at 5 PM generally but at 7 PM during exam time. All the places are open till 5. Only girls hostel is available. Boys hostel us under construction. It's safe to roam around the college late night. I myself has visited it around 11-12 PM several times.
