Course Curriculum Overview

4

The course curriculum is very much relevant and which teaches ot prepare ourselves stronger and be ready to conpete with the outer world. Teaching along with industrial applications and field works are really helping to get an overall idea about our job filed. The areas that need improvement in curriculum is the gap for doing internships and industrial visits should be more . The frequency of exams are around two weeks and semester exams are around six months gaps.

Internships Opportunities

5

The main companies that offers internship is cochin shipyard for a duration of one or two months. The stipend they provide is around Rs.15000.The main role offered there is the supervisor who monitors each and every production unit of the companies. The projects are the ship model buliding i had monitored.

Placement Experience

5

From seventh semester onwards students are eligible for campus placements. The companies visited for the purpose of placements are L&T,soba constructions..Each companies are offering around 20 offers for each departments. The highest salary package is around 2LPA and average salary package is around 1.5LPA. Around 30% of students are getting placements in each batch.

Fees and Financial Aid

The yearly fee i am paying around Rs.7600 and which include all the lab fee, tution fee and bus fee etc. The tution fee is around Rs.1300 and admission fee is Rs.10000 only at the time of joining. The lab fee is around Rs.510. The fee for those who got admission under reservation category are just only one-third of the general category students. My batchmate who got admission in OBC seat is paying total semester fee around Rs.3450. There is a scholarship most of the students are applied is Egrantz and around Rs.20000 arr they get in every end of the year.

Campus Life

5

There are two fests conducted in every year. They are RITHU is the tech fest of our campus and KELI is the cultural fest. Each departments has their own individual library with well equipped books and journals. Each classrooms are made as smart room model with projector and smart tvs.also different sport events and extra curricular activities are conducted in the college which are conducted by different clubs like gaming, literature etc.

Admission

The admission process is completely through the kerala engineering entrance examination portal and we are opting different colleges for getting admission through this portal. I opted different colleges like GEC kannur,TKM and CET. I took the admission in Rajiv Gandhi Institute of Technology kottayam because the mechanical engineering department of our institution is the top among the colleges is kerala.

Faculty

5

The faculty-student ratio is around 80:650.The faculty are really friendly with the students and always helps in any kind of the situations. I really liked Mr.Alan Philp because i has always motivate me to tackle any problems. Mr.Midhun regi the faculty of lab i didn't like he always become rude. There are two internal exams conducted between 2 week gap and the end semester examination both these exams are very easier. The curriculum is very relevant which prepare ourselves stronger.

Night Life

4

There are two different gyms for girls and boys separately. Also three cafeterias and one central library and each individual departments libraries. My main hangout place is the college ground and the canteens. The locality safe to roam around night is the whole campus. There are two hostels provied for girls and boys each by the government.

The campus placements are decent. getting placed in a big company is more about having the technical and soft skills to pass the interviews. the placement training helps us develop soft skills but the technical skills must be developed ourselves.
