College of Vocational Studies - [CVS], Bachelor of Arts [BA] {Vocational studies} Insurance Management
Reviewed on Dec 29, 2024(Enrolled 2024)

Course Curriculum Overview

4

This course explores all the fields of Insurance and how to manage it , It explores the risk associated with the life we all have , and how I insurances work. The course prepares us very well for the field of Insurance. The teaching methods can improve a little bit otherwise everything is fine The difficulty level is medium to be honest in my opinion as I'm an average kid so according to me it's medium level difficulty.

Fees and Financial Aid

The Bachelor of Arts (Vocational Studies) in Insurance Management is a cost-effective program with a modest annual fee of ?1,610. However, the lack of fee concessions for EWS students and the absence of scholarships limit its inclusivity. For students from economically disadvantaged backgrounds, even a nominal fee can be a significant financial hurdle. To make education accessible for all, institutions must introduce measures such as fee concessions, scholarships, and financial aid programs. These steps would not only support students financially but also motivate them to pursue and excel in their education without the stress of monetary constraints. Inclusivity in education is not merely a goal but a necessity to ensure equal opportunities for everyone, irrespective of their economic or social background.

Campus Life

4

Tell my overall experience with the campus life is average as I am a kind of an average student so I don't go in the lot of clubs and my social aspects is quite good as I am an extra extrovert so I am into a lot of college societies and i am in a famous society thats COMSOC (commerce society of CVS)

Admission

I didn't apply for any other college as I wanted to get into Government College only that's why I chose Delhi University. And after the results I got to know that I got enrolled in this course so I was satisfied with what I got as I want to do some further studies also so this course is ok for that.

Faculty

3

Faculty to student ratios is very low as now I have been seeing that a lot of teachers are leaving the college as they are enrolling in some other college I have a subject called as 'Risk Management' and there is only 1 teacher in the whole college for that course The only Faculty i like is my EVS teacher her name is 'Ruchi Singh' she's the best teacher in my opinion for my course. There's no such faculty that i dont like , but my Risk Management teacher 'Mangal Cheering' finds very hard to explain the topics in the class. There are 2 exams in whole year which we call as Semester Exams , Well there is a very small ratio for the students that are not able to clear the exam , The course explores a lot about Insurance Field and all the risks that are associated with it.

Night Life

4

Well as my college is very close to my house so I don't stay in any hostels, i live in my place only , but as for the Places to visit and chill there are alot of places near my college as Select City walk and the most famous amongst the students is ' AUTHORITY' it consists of everything that could come in help of a student like , Stationery, Photo Booths and what not and for Food also there is lot of places.

DSC placements are not that great as around 30-40% students are placed and that is how it is here. Most students of Political Science go for higher studies or get job opportunities in political consultancy or journalism.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The aspects of the curriculum that influences my decision to choose. This course was for the upcoming government exams as it provide a fundamental knowledge for them and the curriculum prepares it for real World applications do not have any practical knowledge, but it was more focus on academic more theoretical and areas of improvement. In the course curriculum is that I would suggest that it should be more ongoing perspective more realism rather than focusing on the past theory that we have, it should be relevant in contemporary times and the frequency and timing of exam along with my proper difficulty level is high.

Placement Experience:

The placement cell of KMC works really well. Many top companies like Deloitte, EY, KPMG, and Wipro visit the campus. It also arranges internships and placement drives, making sure students are ready for jobs. Overall, KMC provides a lively atmosphere and strong career support. From 6th Semester onwards, students can sit for campus placements. The highest package was upwards of ?30 LPA and the average package is around ?6-8 LPA. Our course saw a similar average package and the highest package was ?23 LPA. Around 30% of the previous batch was placed with the rest going for higher education and other job or entrance examinations. After getting my degree, I plan to go for higher education in statistics or economics. And beyond that I have made up my mind that I want to appear for the UPSC Civil Services Examination and RBI Grade B Officer examination.

For placements, there's not much on campus placement programs. Our placement cells are active though. Time to time they keep us posted about the upcoming internship or job opportunities and even invite various organisations for placements. You can even look for off campus placement programs and teachers are very helpful in this. They even offer letter of recommendation for the internship opportunities upon request.

Course Curriculum Overview:

I love the course I have opted for in the College. I had so much interest in literature since I was in school, hence made the decision to opt for English Honours in my undergraduate degree. The curriculum of this particular course is easy to get, teaches practical knowledge. We have Internal Assesment and Continuous Assessment before theory exams. In continuous assessment, we are given some topic to make presentation or a group discussion from our sense of knowledge and experience. Speaking up in a crowd and in front of the whole class gives the practical knowledge of being there, present, confidence and speak up your thoughts I would love if we can also watch theatre within the curriculum as we read various plays but watching and analysing them would be great. Mostly the exams are held in December and May, they are moderate level of examination and I have found absolute no difficulty sitting in them and writing. We get 3 hours for the core subjects, and 1 hour for our respective VACs, SECs and AECs.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The BBA course curriculum at Maharaja Surajmal College is quite well structured and covers a good balance of theoretical and practical aspects of business studies. The subjects are relevant to the current industry standards and help in building a strong foundation for management and corporate roles. The curriculum also gives exposure to areas like marketing, finance, and human resource management which prepares students for real-world applications as well as for higher studies like MBA. However, it could include more practical training, internships, and industry interactions to make learning more experiential. The exams are conducted on time and are of moderate difficulty, focusing more on conceptual understanding rather than rote learning. Overall, the curriculum is comprehensive and relevant, though slight improvements in practical exposure would make it even better.
