Likes
- I like the fact that this college never wastes your time in case of lectures. If one class is cancelled due to the absence of the respective professor they give a substitute or merge the class so you do learn something. 3:4 is Boys to girl ratio .
- I like the campus it's not very huge but also not very small it has a big ground and a garden area . The infrastructure is in red brick building which makes it look like a proper University in Delhi. And There's lifts for students in each department
- The Teachers are really helpful and understanding there's a community for students wellbeing and the HODs of each department are approachable and helpful. The teachers are supportive and the placement opportunities are the bestest in this IPU college
Dislikes
- There's only one canteen and that also lacks variety of items and the main items available there don't taste really good .
- The hostels are really dirty and small have no basic amenities and the mess dinning area is really small . It can hardly accommodate 40 students and the mess food tastes worse and is prepared in an unhygienic way.
- The fests organized aren't very interesting. And not very known people are invited in the fest there's always some uneducated famous youtuber who's famous for fighting and all is invited and there's indecency in such fests.
Course Curriculum Overview
The BBA course curriculum at Maharaja Surajmal College is quite well structured and covers a good balance of theoretical and practical aspects of business studies. The subjects are relevant to the current industry standards and help in building a strong foundation for management and corporate roles. The curriculum also gives exposure to areas like marketing, finance, and human resource management which prepares students for real-world applications as well as for higher studies like MBA. However, it could include more practical training, internships, and industry interactions to make learning more experiential. The exams are conducted on time and are of moderate difficulty, focusing more on conceptual understanding rather than rote learning. Overall, the curriculum is comprehensive and relevant, though slight improvements in practical exposure would make it even better.
Fees and Financial Aid
The yearly fee structure is 1 lakh 50 thousand and it decreased to 1 lakh 32 thousand by second year and third year it will be 1 lakh 28 thousand only . There are scholarships for EWS and single girl child but applying in them is a really difficult task you need alot of documents and signature and NOCs and all . Rest there's a Management Quota Category and they all pay the same fees. There's no specific amount of scholarship and for merit scholarships you need a 10 CGPA
Campus Life
Overall there's a limited but satisfied campus life there are various clubs and societies in the college like National Service Scheme, NCC, Enactus, Synergy,VIT Finance, Girl's Up , Meraki, Nature knocks, Octave, E Cell, Placement Cell. There are various fests like Genesis, Avensis , Navrang , annual sports day, thrive fests. The library has a range of books for management ,law, finance, literature, current affairs and students can also get access to the library books online via the NDLI website which the college enrolls you in . The classrooms have smartboards and projectors and the seminar rooms are also well occupied. The law block has the best infrastructure. The college gives opportunities for playing various sports like volleyball, cricket, football, hockey and running, shotput, javelin throw etc. we have competitions for these on sports day including tug of war as well. All the college societies mentioned above are students driven and it provides students space and experience to grow and develop and socialize and enhance their leadership potential.
Admission
I applied for Maharaja Surajmal Institute as it's known as the SRCC of GGSIPU and it has the highest placement packages in comparison to any other Colleges of GGSIPU and it is ranked the top college of GGSIPU so I opted for admission here and no I didn't get rejected from any universities I got admitted to the one I wanted it's just that you require alot of patience and need to be active about the admission forms being out and all. To get admission in the BBA program at Maharaja Surajmal Institute, a student must have completed their 12th standard or equivalent from a recognized board with at least 50% marks, with English as one of the core, elective, or functional subjects. Admission is primarily conducted through the IPU CET exam held by Guru Gobind Singh Indraprastha University. However, students can also be admitted through CUET if their name appears in the merit list and their rank is below 500. Based on the CET or CUET rank, candidates are called for counseling where seats are allotted. Overall, the eligibility and admission process are quite transparent and ensure that deserving students with strong academic backgrounds get a fair chance to join the program.
Faculty
The faculty to students ratio is 4:6 and the faculty and students relationship is indeed a healthy one and the faculty is really approachable. I like Supriya Ma'am alot as she supported me and guided me throughout my Minor project report which was a lengthy report but she still patiently helped me. The BBA evening shift faculties are actually the best ones. I didn't like Few male teachers I won't name who used to break students motivation and morale because they were angry about something in their personal life so the tortured students. There are two exams in each semester mid semester and the final exam. Mid sems are easy they don't have much syllabus at times depending upon the teachers. The finals have more difficulty and weightage in comparison to mid terms . Almost everyone passes the mid terms but there's a chance for not clearing the main . The course curriculum is relevant as it refines and focuses on practical as well as theoretical knowledge.
Night Life
The night life is not very good but yeah the canteen is a good hangout spot. And the timings for night curfew is 7:00 pm after that no entry and exit is allowed. For both girls and boys hostel The corridor of the law block is good and the garden area near the admin block are good hangout spots
