Everything you need to know about UEM

I chose this course because CSE is not only about coding but it is for problem solving. Finding a technical solution for non-technical problems. The curriculum offers a wide domain of understanding, clearing the path for real life applications. More immersive teaching is appreciated so that students can dive deep into the trenches of knowledge. For term exams, which is easy, they complete it withing a week, 6 exams For semester exams we completed 6 exams in 16 days.

Admission and first semester fees in the year 2024 is Rs 1,20,000/- and from 2nd sem onwards it will be Rs 95,000/- for all stream and branch available. Whereas semester fees for the batch 2023 was Rs 85,000/-

There are 21 clubs in UEM. Some of them are drama, singing, dance, writting, coding, astronomy, cricket, football club etc. Annual technical festivals are URECKON, ECSTASIA etc. The library is big enough and if some book is not available, on a notice they bring it in the library. There are projecters, speakers, and one PC in each classroom along with one CCTV. There are AC outlets but no AC are installed in classes in UEM. In IEM there are AC in each room. All the clubs are student run and are supervised by teachers.

I got 8000 rank in WBJEE, I could not get a good branch is JU or KGEC. So i chose IEM. Later they scammed me to join UEM which is basically now IEM under UEM kolkata. IEM is known for its excellence and it is the one and only college to choose in Kolkata in private category if you are really interested for a good background. There is IEMJEE and if you clear it you can get upto 10% discount. An avg of 80% in both 10th and 12th is required.

Faculty to student ratio is 1:30. The faculties are easily approachable and they behave gently. Faculties I like are Dr. Sayantan Mondal(MATHS), Dr. Arnab Ghosh(PHYS), Mrs. Pubali (BEE) I personally don't like the mechanics faculty only because they don't have the enthusiasm to teach. Most students don't have a clear background in mechanics and they don't care to explain upto the depths. Teaching in the proper way lets us grow interest in the topics. In first year we had to clear 40+ exams including lab and term exams. The term exams are easy and semester exams are really tough.

There is gym in our college but all students are not allowed. Library is great, there is one cafeteria. Library is available 24x7. And the rest closes after 6pm. I don't live in HOSTEL so I don't know about hostel. Famous hangout places are cafeteria, buddha auditorium inside the college, outside there is Diamond plaza, JIO mart, KFC, WOWMOMO and other fastfood restaurants.
