What Students Say

Likes

The class hours are low. 4hrs per day class and 2 labs per week. It hels us to concentrate on our own interests.
The Professors are responsible, resourceful and friendly. They have years of experience and are ready to help.
The sports facilities are great. There is a ground for football, Cricket, Volleyball and all other kinds of sports. There is a gym inside campus.

Dislikes

Some of the professors are a bit grumpy. They wont provide internal marks properly.
The lab staff are a bit disorganised, their behaviour also is not appreciable towards students.
The Mess food is a bit dull. Only chicken is given for non veg every day.

Course Curriculum Overview

The course curriculum was revised in 2023 according to NBA standards and new course is academically distinguished and industrially relevent. In most subject disciplines programming is also taught so that students can inact programming in their respective fields.

Internships Opportunities

Internship opportunities are available in 3rd year of our 4 year engineering course. Many reputed companies are visiting campus to recruit students for Internship opportunities and stipends as high as 1 lack have been provided to students.

Placement Experience

Placement in our college is reputed and presentable as per institutional standards. Highest package offered was Rs.50 Lack in 2023. This year it has chances of going higher. There was history of 100 percent placement in 2022.

Fees and Financial Aid

The year wise fees that we paid was 1,20,000Rs for 1st sem and 98,500Rs for 2nd Sem.Tution fees was 60,000Rs for 1st sem and 75,000 for 2nd Sem.Caution fees was 0,Development fees was 13,000Rs,Mess fees was 36,000Rs,Lab fees was 5000Rs for 1st sem.For SC/ST/PWD fees was 79,000 for 1st sem. Scholarships like ONGC scholarships ,NIT calicut scholarship,Alumni association scholarship are available

Campus Life

National Institute of Technology Calicut has one technical fest and one cultural fest. The technical fest is called Tatwa and cultural fest is called Ragam. Both are largest in state and comparably largest in south India.

Admission

College is near my home and is very distinguished in our state for its academic progress and history in producing inspirational students. The rank I had was apt for me to secure a seat in this college.Other state colleges required a higher curoff criteria to be met.

Faculty

Faculty members are academically qualified, well experienced and friendly. Academically 3 credit courses will have two quizzes, two assignments and two tests. 1 credit course will have 1 assignment and 2 tests.

Night Life

Nightl8fe is amazing. Kozhikode city is nearby so students can visit Malls, theatres, beach , hotels and many other places. Campus only has many canteens, amphitheatre and auditorium. There is a gymnasium inside campus with all necessary equipment.

An honest college review

Placement Experience:

From the 7th semester students become eligible for placements. The top recruiters in it sectors are Infosys, TCS, Cognizant, Tata Elxsi, Accenture, Oracle, Amazon, Wipro, UST GLOBAL, IBM. The top recruiters in other sectors are Mu Sigma, Ernst and young,, federal Bank, h and r block. Most of the placement are in it and related sectors. The average package is 4 to 6 lpa.The highest package is 34 lpa in Amazon. In 2024, 35 percent of students got placed. I will look to get campus placement in a reasonable package or I will try to get jobs by other means.

Campus placements are highly volatile taking the stats from over the past three years there has been an up trend as well a down trend, I hope I will get placed through on campus interviews, the highest package of this year was for two graduates who got into IBM with 22 lakhs per aanum, there are few who didn't get into any of the companies while there were others who got int Amazon and other reputated companies, if I do not get into a reputed company through my college on campus placements the. College Feels Like Home

Placement Experience:

The placement department in our college is great and is always trying to bring good companies to the college. The placement training starts from semester 7. Our top recruiter include Infosys, TCS, Wipro, NocoBD, Delloite, etc. and our mechanical, civil, EEE,ECE all got placements with avg of 4lpa.The highest package where 12 Lpa for SAP. My plans is to get a good job and lead a stable life.

They provide placement packages from a minmum of 4lpa to 12 lpa.. But most of the students got 4 lpa packages, it is very difficult to crack higger packages, but most of the cs students got placement andd students of other departments palcement is not good.

I have choosen this college because it is of top 5 NITs and i am getting a good branch. I have apllied for remaining top nits also, but i got this for my jee mains rank( i couldn't make to other top nits because may be of lack of good preperation for jee). When compared to remianing NITs, this college has everything that every other NIT also have, the sports facilities here can be improved. I wanted to get into Mechanical Engineering in any of the top NIT's so applied for all the NIT's in the NIRF ranking order with mechanical in every college so after the counselling happened to get into NIT Calicut. The admission process is through JoSAA Counselling where students come to the college after getting alloted but before that the student needs to clear the JEE Main Exam to get admitted into the college. Accordind to NIRF rankings this is the top 27 Engineering college in India and top 3rd NIT. Admission process is only through JEE Mains Exam. You need very good percentile to join this college. Nit Calicut very good placements too....Read More
