Course Curriculum Overview

3

The course curriculam at CEC is well structured and aims to provide a strong balance between theoretical and practical concepts. On the first year they cover the basic subjects such as physics, maths, chemistry etc along with grapics, python and c programing. Second year onwards we have core subjects where we cover oops ,dsa, toc etc. Every semester includes lab sessions that let students apply what the learn in class. We also have subjests where we have to do group projects Regular internal exmas, assignments and seminar ensure students remain engaged.

Internships Opportunities

3

I personally do not have undertaken any internship , but college offers may intership oppurtunities there different student clubs. If we attend some events and got into the final round then there is a chance that we can get internships.

Placement Experience

4

The placements here is quite promising particularly for computer science department. Over 70 to 80 percentage seniors secured scholarships. Major recruiters are firms like Tata , infosys , Wipro , IBM etc. The highest salary previous year was around 9 lakhs.

Fees and Financial Aid

The yearly fee structure varies by the type of seat you got-- Merit, Management and NRI seats. For merit students the yearly fee is around 45000 and for Management students its about 75000 and about NRI students the fee is around one lakh. The fee has reamined fairly consistent for all students but if you are late to pay the fee you have to pay fine in next semester. Also there is variations in fees for different departments About Scholarships:- Cec offer different scholarships for students. 1.Alumini scholarship for some students from poor financial background and those who have good academic performance. 2.AICTE Scholarship is also given to students who are excellent im academics. And many more.

Campus Life

4

My overall experience was very positive till now. Academics can be hectic but manageable. Campus life has been vibrant with many clubs and student organizations like IEEE, NSS , FOCES etc. Previous year there was a event called encore conducted by jukebox the music band of cec. Also there was two technical events like exodia and navira last year.

Hostel Facilities

5

College offers separate hostel facilities for boys and girls. The boys hostel is located near the campus-- there is a 5 minute walk it has a capacity of 70 students. Boys hostel is only provided for first years only. There is three girls hostel-- Nandanam , Vrindanam and Gokulam. The food quality is average. Also the rooms are furnished

Admission

I choose this college because it offered best balance between academic reputation, placements and fee structure. I applied few other colleges but i didn't got admission. On keam exam i secured a decent score so i got admission in cec. And also several people told me that cec is one of the finest college in kerala. The location was also convenient for me dince the college located in the city itself.

Faculty

4

Faculty members at cec are generally well-qualified and knowledgeable. Most hold M-tech or phd degrees. Several have tesearch experience and practical industry exposure. In my experience most of them and apporachable. Moat of the teachers go on extra mile for students, providing extra sessions, career guidance and assistance with placement. They are open to clear doubts both during and after class. They always follow the referred textbooks. Overall, the faculty at CEC create a supportive enviorment for both academic and personal growth

Night Life

2

If you are a hosteller there is no night life bacause we cant go out of hostel after 6.30 since the hostel is not inside the campus. But if you are a staying in PGs then you can enjoy the night life really well-- you can stay in college to play badminton and all. But if you have permission of warden you can stay in college at night there is no problem. There is gym and canteen inside college, the canteen food is really average like not so good nor bad.

As seniors said the average package is around 10lpa.If you have descent skills and above 8 cgpa you will get this average package. If you upskill yourself with effort which many students do here then you can also get above 15lpa which many seniors got.The highest package was off-campus by an ECE Student in Google despite having cgpa around 6.He had very good skills as a full stack developer.

Placement Experience:

The placements here are quite good, but not great. Because only 50% of students in a class are getting placed. From S7 onwards the placements have been started for our department. But for other departments, from S8 only companies have arrived. For CSE department, many companies are coming which include Cognizant, SOTI, Mitsogo, EY, 6D Technologies, etc. Our senior batch students have placed at many companies in this. But comparing with other senior batches, the placements at our batch is really bad.

Students are eligible for placement from the 7th semester and internship from 3rd semester. You can apply for internship on your own right from first semester but college gives aid from 3rd semester. The major recruiter is ISRO which offers 40-45 jobs for aerospace engineering. Also other companies like CDac Airbus Boeing and DRDO and HAL visit for recruitment. Nearly 85-90% students get placed while some opt for Higher education and research too. My primary goal is to get into ISRO also I will be preparing for gate examination to complete my IIT dream.
