Course Curriculum Overview

4

It was very vast included all kinds of literature and history that was beautifully explained by great works. We had a variety of plays, poems, dramas and a lot to cover. Professors often set expectations of you being as comprehensive as a critique in class discussion

Placement Experience

4

Placements were sent out and professors only reached out about surveys very proactively. Seems like a lot of chaos happened with the principle. The publicity of the event was on a bigger scale and put the college in a tough spot. Companies did not visit as often but fairs were conducted with several typed of tie ups as well. I did not go in for placements since I was able to get a job myself.

Fees and Financial Aid

Didn't avail scholarship or any kind of compensations. Paid around 5000-6000 per year. Same as batchmates, not aware of the compensations provided as per quota. Find it affordable since it is part of Delhi University.

Campus Life

4

Easily accessible corridors but no gender inclusive spaces. Not too many sign boards to indicate blocks and would often be late for this reason. Ground is usually occupied however another ground which is smaller is also available in campus. Good stalls nearby and markets which make it easier.

Admission

I was able to get in the last test drive and felt like the campus was beautiful. I was offered my preffered course at the very end and was happy to be choosing it. I left VIPS mass communication for my course as well. It has never been so hard Delhi university exams as well since the marking is not as strict. If the concepts were clear it wasn't hard to get through exams for me personally. I did face rejection from colleges due to physical ed being my top 4 and my cut off dropping because of that. I was in the covid batch so never gave my boards as well. Was extremely disappointed since I prepared very hard for it.

Faculty

5

Professors were able to cover syllabus and conduct activities for extra curricular feeds. Exams were led with strict invigilators with regular checkings. Other facultys and their professors seemed to be quite keen on only sticking to teaching.

Night Life

4

The markets nearby were the famous spot but didn't go out or interact which collegemates in such manners to experience night life. Concerts were a common thing but never went to one. No gyms but a beautiful library with private single seating areas.

Course Curriculum Overview:

Our college offers a good mix of theory and real-life application, making it a good choice for anyone genuinely curious about how the human mind works. It also balances academics with hands-on experiences—students don’t just read about psychology in theory, they actually get to practice it through labs, experiments, internships, and field visits. Regular workshops, seminars, and presentations keep the learning process interactive and help build communication and analytical skills that are useful both inside and outside the classroom. Recently a resilience workshop was held by an alumni of MSCW, where we got deeper insights about how resilience can be built, how coping works and how some coping techniques can be bad for u.

Placement Experience:

Dyal Singh Placements aren't that hefty that I can boast a lot about them. Since I have already mentioned in previous section that I want the deepest knowledge of political science and the only way, one can gain that is by doing masters. Coming to DSC placements over 30% students of Political Science from our college are placed via campus.

Media people as Hindi Hons students obviously have chane there or researches. Some even pursue freelance things as college provides the perfect platform to gain confidence and showcase the skills. Otherwise research or political expert roles are the only roles offered to Hindi Hons students. Since I want a complete command I will be doing masters in Hindi Hons.

DSC placements are not that great as around 30-40% students are placed and that is how it is here. Most students of Political Science go for higher studies or get job opportunities in political consultancy or journalism.

For placements, there's not much on campus placement programs. Our placement cells are active though. Time to time they keep us posted about the upcoming internship or job opportunities and even invite various organisations for placements. You can even look for off campus placement programs and teachers are very helpful in this. They even offer letter of recommendation for the internship opportunities upon request.

Course Curriculum Overview:

I love the course I have opted for in the College. I had so much interest in literature since I was in school, hence made the decision to opt for English Honours in my undergraduate degree. The curriculum of this particular course is easy to get, teaches practical knowledge. We have Internal Assesment and Continuous Assessment before theory exams. In continuous assessment, we are given some topic to make presentation or a group discussion from our sense of knowledge and experience. Speaking up in a crowd and in front of the whole class gives the practical knowledge of being there, present, confidence and speak up your thoughts I would love if we can also watch theatre within the curriculum as we read various plays but watching and analysing them would be great. Mostly the exams are held in December and May, they are moderate level of examination and I have found absolute no difficulty sitting in them and writing. We get 3 hours for the core subjects, and 1 hour for our respective VACs, SECs and AECs.

Area that should be improved that is treat every student similarly without any discrimination. Faculty don't even tdke action on sol, IGNOU and NCWEB students. So I think it should be improved firstly.

So there is a placement cell here in LSR that serves as a mediator between recruiters and students and provide adequate placement opportunities for students from various departments. Also companies like Blackstone, accenture, nomura come for placements and the highest package that has been offered to a student was INR 45 LPA!

Course Curriculum Overview:

The course curriculum I took is okay considering the low placement percentage from the college's side which is I would say sometimes bad and good at the same time as the students can find their own way around such things. Faculty just complete the topics. we have to study ourselves.
