What Students Say
Likes
- The infrastructure is awesome for psychology students. There are psychology labs with ACs, which are a relief in the summer heat. Most of the rooms on the 4th floor also have ACs. Moreover the auditorium & the bebe nanki hall are also well furnished.
- There's a stationery shop just at the backside of the college which is helpful in case you have forgotten something.
- The NSS society of our college is one of the best among all the DU colleges. It's very active as it doesn't only conduct events within but also outside the college which gives us a lot of exposure.
Dislikes
- I feel that the college canteen food, despite being tasty, is expensive. A single cup of cold coffee is priced at 70 rupees which might be expensive for some students
- There's no fashion society in our college and the students who are interested in fashion can feel that something is missing out. Most of the colleges do have a fashion society which also helps raise funds.
Course Curriculum Overview
Our college offers a good mix of theory and real-life application, making it a good choice for anyone genuinely curious about how the human mind works. It also balances academics with hands-on experiences—students don’t just read about psychology in theory, they actually get to practice it through labs, experiments, internships, and field visits. Regular workshops, seminars, and presentations keep the learning process interactive and help build communication and analytical skills that are useful both inside and outside the classroom. Recently a resilience workshop was held by an alumni of MSCW, where we got deeper insights about how resilience can be built, how coping works and how some coping techniques can be bad for u.
Fees and Financial Aid
The college is overall very good. We are from general category and we paid the sum of around 29000 rupees for the entire course including the tuition fees, the registration fee. The infrastructure and the faculty is also very nice.
Campus Life
I'm satisfied with my college experience so far. A few days ago only a 2 day Psychology fest was held for all the students of our college. On day 1 there were fun activities like doodling, blowing bubbles and telling the stall holder, one thing your younger self would tell you, a psychological test was also held- we were provided with a questionnaire which we had to fill out and the senior students interpreted our results and gave us suggestions to help with our problems. The event was very fun. On day 2, a seminar was held wherein Dr. Rohit Garg have us insights about his journey in psychology, how mental disorders can be common among people and they might not recognise them.. The library is well furnished with AC, we also have a sports ground.
Admission
In order to get into any college of DU, you are supposed to give CUET exam, the score of your CUET exam determines your admission into any college. My dream college was Indraprastha college for women because I wanted to have a minor degree in geography and IPCW is well- reputed for its geography department. My score was 826 out of 1000 and the IPCW cut off for general category was around 750 due to which I couldn't get an admission into that college. Nevertheless, I am satisfied with this college. Both the working and non working staff are very helpful.
Faculty
There are around 9 teachers of psychology for around 400 students. Psychology students can do upto 4 years in this college earning the degree of bachelor of arts plus research in psychology. So for all the 4 year students there are around 9 teachers. The faculty is very approachable and frank with the students. My favourite teacher is Dr. Mallika Sharma who teaches us cognitive psychology. She makes the class very interactive and fun. Students also understand all of the concepts she teaches.
Interview Experience
Nope no group discussion of round admissions or interview. Only cuet. Prepared through class 12th ncert books. Rounds were in the sense of which college would you get in what round. In the first round I got this college for psychology and I didn't get an upgrade.
Night Life
The hostel is still under construction very near to the college and is expected to be completed around 2028. To come to the college, we exit from gate no 3 of ITO subway. There are e- rickshaws lined up right in front of the station and they take 10 rupees for the ride to the college which is pretty cheap. The area is very safe so you can also walk to the college.
