Course Curriculum Overview

5

Me personally as someone who likes to read decided to choose my hobby as my career and I think it's the best decision I've made. In this semester I've read classics like homer, Sophocles, aristotle etc. The curriculum is hectic but it's not something one can't manage. It's just need lots of time to learn.

Fees and Financial Aid

I'm a first year student pursuing a degree in Bachelor of Arts in English and I belong to the scheduled tribe (st) category. Below is the fee details, scholarships opportunities and overall expenses related to my course. My program spans three years and four if one wants to go for the fourth year. The fees I paid for this semester is: Tuition ?19000 Examination fee ?1100 In total I paid ?20100 for my first semester The fees are the second and third year are expected to be similar. As an ST student I qualify for various scholarships and financial assistance which greatly lessen my financial strain. Additionally the college offers fee waivers for eligible students.

Campus Life

4

My college's annual event is called NEXUS which is considered one of the best fest in DU. The library itself is quite big with lots of seatings but can obviously add more. Sri Venkateswara college is known for its sports faculty as well. The college has various clubs and society that one can join according to their interests

Admission

For one to get into any DU colleges, one must give the CUET exam. Which obviously is the only way to get into DU. I chose my colllege which is Sri Venkateswara college and is considered one of the top colleges and it's in south campus. I personally placed it on my top cause it is has earn a lot of reputation over the years. The cut offs goes high for this college but it depends on your category as well.

Faculty

5

With me being an English students, my faculty professors are very highly educated. The course itself is such that you need to be critical and knowledgeable in the field. The professors are all very friendly and they know what they are doing, which is very helpful. There's always a CA or an IA going on to evaluate us. The exams are very easy to score as well.

Night Life

3

The night life depends on the person as well. But there is plenty of hangout places around the college. The Maggi point inside the campus is a hotspot and there are plenty of cafés and food stops outside the college in Satya Niketan where all the pgs are at.

Course Curriculum Overview:

the curriculum is decided by delhi university, economics wing and is followed by all the colleges of du, although few topic are often irrevelent which teachers tend to skip. i do feel that curriculum is pretty old and they should introduce new topic which are more related to reak=l world and give us real life experience not just bookish knowledge which is irelevent. they should also ask for students input related to their curriculum, teachers sometimes tedn to just do book reading. internal exmas are taken frequently and difficulty is 3 out of 5

Course Curriculum Overview:

It is a good course. I went for it mainly because I am preparing for UPSC CSE (pretty common around here). In that context the course is helpful, and also for those aiming to enter research, academia, museology, archaeology etc. However there are not many placement opportunities and for most it would be better to pursue masters later on. Teaching methods are inclusive, both english and hindi medium students can comfortably study. However both students and faculties have some complaints regarding the curriculum changes under NEP such as the sequence of courses in each sem.

There's a very active placement cell in my college. They conduct placement drives, webinars and workshops. Both the jobs and internships are offered. The best package was of 2024 offering 23 Lpa and the average is around 6 Lpa.

Course Curriculum Overview:

Course is rightly designed. Plus the teachers often suggest books that can be read from library regarding course topics. The library is very nice here. I used to study in the library for long hours. The exam notes and everything is available at the photocopy shop that's inside the college. Writing this review really made me miss the college more

Placements definitely stands out as passive placement cell of the college is too good. They are quite aggressive and keep attacking us with getting ready for placements. As top corporate house like Big 4 and top Indian conglomerate also comes to our college for placements.

Course Curriculum Overview:

Initially i took this course beacuse i filled it as a backup for coming into delhi university but now i can say that the course is very interesting and it is practically applicable in daily life. Tho the theory exams are quite difficult and subjects like advance mme where max students fail exist but then also it is doable and has market value

Placement Experience:

Campus placement is done in the 3rd year. The highest PPO given is 24,00,000 to auditing and taxation departments. Average package is about ?15,00,000 to ?18,00,000. Companies like Eay, KPMG and more visit our college for placement. Most students under the commerce department get offered internships. Other than this, the placement cell also actively keeps sending internship opportunities for students to enhance their profiles. I am an English honours student l, thus there is no placement option for me directly unless I take up options from the P-Cell. I have already interned at EY India, Gurgaon, as a forensics and risk management specialist( throigh personal referral). My knowledge (attained from DCAC) of research, report and article writing were used adequately.

Placement Experience:

Generally, after BA no one is placed and even if we apply for a job we don't get a good package. So, students generally go for masters or some other courses through which they can get placements. Talking of college placement and internship cell we don't have very good facilities as very limited companies are there for recruiting students. Many students don't even get the internship. This is a major negative point of college.
