Sri Venkateswara college is located in Dhaula Kuan Satya Niketan. It is well connected with metro, the nearest metro station is Durga Bai Deshmukh South Campus.
It is one of the best college in DU. All the faculty members have PhD from highly reputed Universities. It's annual cultural fest Nexus is ome of its kind this year Mohit Chauhan was the star performer
There are different buildings for different streams science Arts and commerce. It has an auditorium and seminar room. The college ECA societies are also well known in DU circuit.

Dislikes

It is located in bit expensive locality. Satya Niketan is expensive area, the PG prices are also high
College Admin is very hard to handle with.
College has diversity but sometimes seem to be dominated by sone regional groups

I am pursuing major's in sociology. We fall under New Education policy batch. We have total 7 papers in first two years in each semester. There are various newly added sub discipline which are of its own kind eg. Sociology of fassion. The courses are highly academic and research based. We are suppose to do references and make presentation on its daily life experience and application

Class Size: 47Course Fees: INR 16000 per year

Fees and Financial Aid

The average fees of Humanities and Social Sciences courses are around 14K to 16 K The are various scholarships and fee waivers including Vice chancellor scholarship at University as well as college level.

Campus Life

The college cultural fest known as Nexus is one of its own kind this year Mohit Chauhan was the star performer. Previous year stars like Sunidhi Chauhan, Kailash Kher, Shekhar, Armaan Malik and Jubin Nautiyal have performed here. The library of this college have huge number of books including various journal the reading room is also spacious. One have have access to e library though college id. The college have it's own cricket academy. There are various ECA societies in college they are well known in DU circuit.

Admission

Eligibility 12th pass Entrance Exam: CUET For Humanities and Social Sciences courses i.e. BA We have to choose 3 domain subject studied in class 12 and one language paper each paper carries 200 marks So the expected cut-off are 700+/800 One have to register under CSAS portal of DU And have to prepare preference list, it plays an important role in admission. For CUET stick to NCERT andl revise it multiple times

All the faculty members have PhD from highly reputed Universities. We have deducted periods for lecture tutorial and practicals We have a component of Continuous Assessment where we are encouraged to to follow various unorthodox method of learning.

Placement Experience:

Course Curriculum Overview:

• The structure of the course was from basic to advanced. The structure made sure that all the basics are cleared specially for those who did not have psychology as a subject in class 12. • The course is well-tuned with the practical aspects that makes us better equipped for tackling real world problems. • Inclusion of field trips every semester should be implemented for better insight about the materials in the course. • Midterms are held in between our semester that is of moderate level that consists of 1 or 2 units, usually for 30 marks. The end semester exams are held at the end of the semester for around 90 marks which has higher level of difficulty.

Course Curriculum Overview:

When I was choosing this course in preference list I found it interesting to study the society, it's main aspect and concepts included in it . I read about Marx , max etc and found some interest in it . The curriculum does tell concept relevant information society but I feel like there is a lot of need to research in Indian societal concept and their work and interaction. Teaching method can be interesting, interactive rather than being boring concept reading in class

Placement Experience:

I feel every student needs to work hard on themselves first and equip themselves with skills which could land them a good placement. There are companies which are partnering with the college and admit interns and applicants by the end of the year. I personally have not applied for the internships or the placements but I intend to in the future.

From the 6th semester student become eligible for the placements. Companies visited are KPMG , Adobe , JP Morgan etc.Average package of my college is 16 lakhs ( i am not very sure as I am a first year student). My plans after degree is to pursue higher education.

Placement Experience:

The college has a placement cell and provide a very good rate of placement for the courses like b.com ,bsc and some for the courses such as geography. Placements take place in the 5th sem if you are doing three year degree or in the 7th sem if you are doing four year degree. The number of companies visited were about 80 to 90 the names of the recruiters is as Google, Accenture, Amazon, Talent Serve, Deloitte. The highest package was of 24 lpa and the median salary is 5 lpa the lowest package was of 2 lpa . 60 % of students are placed in placement. My plans after getting the degree is will prefer higher education

Your Average Guy's College Experience

I got accepted into Christ Uni (Yeshwanthpur Campus) and Loyola College Chennai. I chose SVC as Loyola did not have a hons course in commerce and I did not get into the Cental Campus in Christ. The Truth about Veny

I had applied to Jindal Business school , Ashoka , NMIMS , IIM Rohtak I was selected in all of these universities but I had some personal reason due to which I couldn't leave Delhi . I had given CUET and hoped for a top tier North campus college like Hindu Srcc , st. Stephens but there was a lot of mismanagement in my maths paper centre.
