Likes

As it's a girl's college, it's very comfortable for me as well as it's environment among the students.
My college keep its library open for almost till 6 o clock which helped me a lot as a student by providing me a space to study till late in college.
Safe drinking water which is a necessity for everyone specially during hot summer, providing chilled water.

Dislikes

Washrooms not having water running till the college time is over and during an emergency period.
The college wifi is too slow that I can't even open a pdf during an important lesson.
Not having enough classrooms to held classes.

Course Curriculum Overview

The course according to me is quiet helpful as it serve my field of interest. The subjects which were introduced to us during the first year were all those what we have already studied in ours schools but taught in depth during your college years.

Class Size: 70Course Fees: INR 18000 per year

Fees and Financial Aid

My college fees for my course was 18000 per year which is for the two semesters. It didn't change nor increased since the time of Admission. It was affordable for me as the fee structure was constant.Though I belong to ST category all my classmates paid the same amount as I did for my course. I didnt receive any scholarship amount as was not aware about it.

Campus Life

There are many societies in our college some even I don't know. I was a member of the art society which is Spectra. I had a great time working with the members of that society, they provide chances for everyone involving every member collectively in every occasion. Though funds are provided by the college some amount is also collected as a contribution by all the society members.

Admission

This was my first preference and i choosed this college on my own. The main reason is that it was a girl's college as well as recommended by my cousin who was a alumini of this college. Though some college might have slightly better infrastructure, i would still recommend my college in terms of classes and better teaching facilities.

Faculty

As my course is History our faculty members from the history department as very helpful and interactive. We were offered DSC and DSE from our own course to study as a subject. In terms of examination, we have to answer 4 questions out of 8 which is of 90 marks in total.

Night Life

The nightlife around my college campus is very lively. As the campus is surrounded by pgs and flats all rented by the students, most of them after working and studying all day long get time to hang around with their friends around the evening till 10/11 pm making evening walk a period of fun among the students.

Course Curriculum Overview:

• The structure of the course was from basic to advanced. The structure made sure that all the basics are cleared specially for those who did not have psychology as a subject in class 12. • The course is well-tuned with the practical aspects that makes us better equipped for tackling real world problems. • Inclusion of field trips every semester should be implemented for better insight about the materials in the course. • Midterms are held in between our semester that is of moderate level that consists of 1 or 2 units, usually for 30 marks. The end semester exams are held at the end of the semester for around 90 marks which has higher level of difficulty.

Course Curriculum Overview:

When I was choosing this course in preference list I found it interesting to study the society, it's main aspect and concepts included in it . I read about Marx , max etc and found some interest in it . The curriculum does tell concept relevant information society but I feel like there is a lot of need to research in Indian societal concept and their work and interaction. Teaching method can be interesting, interactive rather than being boring concept reading in class

Placement Experience:

I feel every student needs to work hard on themselves first and equip themselves with skills which could land them a good placement. There are companies which are partnering with the college and admit interns and applicants by the end of the year. I personally have not applied for the internships or the placements but I intend to in the future.

Placement Experience:

The college has a placement cell and provide a very good rate of placement for the courses like b.com ,bsc and some for the courses such as geography. Placements take place in the 5th sem if you are doing three year degree or in the 7th sem if you are doing four year degree. The number of companies visited were about 80 to 90 the names of the recruiters is as Google, Accenture, Amazon, Talent Serve, Deloitte. The highest package was of 24 lpa and the median salary is 5 lpa the lowest package was of 2 lpa . 60 % of students are placed in placement. My plans after getting the degree is will prefer higher education

My preference was always Miranda House but the cut off were too high, also my parents wanted me to study in a girls college so I mostly opted for girl's College only, moreover i thought botany would help me to get better opportunities in research and that's why i opted this subject in DRC. also DRC is well known for it's academic, however there was two seats left for Botany in Miranda in spot rounds, i wasn't known about it, if known, i would have applied for Miranda. The admission is based on your Cuet UG score. Eligibility is you have to study physics, chem and biology in class 12. Cut offs are high to be honest. • I applied to Cotton University, Guwahati and got selected. The course structure was okay and it was near to my hometown if I failed to get into DU. However , I got DRC and was satisfied with their course structure and reputation. Also , I realised it was better for me to go outstation for better exposure • I applied to st. Edmunds and st. Anthony's in Shillong and also got accepted. • the admissions criteria is : 1. 12th standard clearance 2. CUET is the basis of college allocation 3.
