Course Curriculum Overview

4

As a B.Com Honour student, I could say that apart from Syllabus and Exams , they also teach us real world skills like Product advertisement, Market Analysis, Product Pitching, etc. through different workshops where well known entrepreneurs are invited to teach us. The exams have a difficulty level of 3.5/5. It's a great experience for me.

Internships Opportunities

3

Companies like reliance , Bajaj ,Tata, etc. offers opportunities. They offer out of the state opportunities .But frankly I don't want to get into internships for now so I have a really less idea about the stipends and companies and all.

Placement Experience

3

After 5th sem , students are eligible for placements. Huge companies like TCS visits the campus. 2- 3 lpa is average. I just have a plan to get the placement in a good company and work therefore 6 months to gather experience and move to a bigger company.

Fees and Financial Aid

Fees are divided into quarterly basis. For every semester, the fee is paid in two halfs. For my course it was around 6000 for 1 semester which is pretty low for a private college. And you have to pay 100 as the late fee.

Campus Life

5

The campus is huge, there are two canteens , 2 auditorium, Green benches, gymnasium , labs, common rooms, 1 football ground, 1 basketball court, 1 volleyball court and a cricket ground, etc. There are various clubs like department wise and every department helds feasts for entire college. Every department its own management teams and sport teams. Every classroom has AC and Smart Classes with speakers with wifi. I've already mentioned the social and sports life but I'll give you a recap: There are sports tournaments on Football, basketball, volleyball, cricket, etc. Indoor games tournaments on games such as Chess , Checkers, TT, Carrom, etc. E-sports Tournaments on BGMI ,COD,PACE,FREEFIRE,etc. XPL for intra college tournaments. Departmental Sports Day, Xavier's premier league, NCC sports Day, Annual Sports Day, Sports league during Xavotsav, etc. in sports. There are departmenta feasts such as Xavullas, Xavrang, Xaviesta, etc. Xavotsav is the annual feast of the college which is held for 3-4 days. This carvival contains inter college sports tournaments, Rap Battle, Dance Battle ( Western , Folk , Classical, Semi - classical), Battle of Bands, Standup comedy, Battle of DJs , Fashion Shows (group/individual), Instrumental music battle, unplugged song battle, Streetplays, dramas, dance dramas, street dance, etc. Every day the activities starts from 8am and ends at evening 7pm and that's when the DJ night starts with a non stop music festival for the next 6-7 hours. There are chief guests like actors , singers, etc. As it's a carnival the campus is full of food and goodies stalls all around with student friendly prices. And Mini Games stalls with cute prizes.

Admission

Apart from SXC I applied for SNU , City College, Vivekananda, Amity, etc. and I got admission confirmation from every college but I chose SXC because of its high quality education system. It's one of the best colleges in India. Ranked in top 5 colleges of India. Admission is easy. You can apply online or in person.

Faculty

4

The faculty is really good. They are really responsive to the students and their problems. Most of the professors are very friendly and helpful. The exams are really competitive but they are not out of the syllabus or something but it's exactly what we learn in lectures. There are two theory exams in every semester - mid sems(20 marks) and end sems(50 marks). In every sem, 10 marks for attendance and 20 marks for assignment, total 100 marks. Mostly MCQs and SAQs and 2or 3 LAQs in End-sem exams.

Interview Experience

3

No I didn't face any interview during the admission. I had OBC quota and reference but my friend's didn't had any but they still got in easily. There are just few questions on the website where you can apply and that's all.

Night Life

4

The campus opens 6am and closes 10pm. During that time canteens, cafeterias, gymnasium, library, etc remains open. There is hostel for both Girls and Boys (individual, not together) in 10 mins to the college. The night life is pretty awesome around the college as it is in center of Kolkata , so the all the cafes, bars , restaurants, clubs, etc are open whole night. And it is safe to roam around at night as it is pretty crowded even at night.

Course Curriculum Overview:

I choose the course the b.com because I want to become the CA but after completing the graduation my family condition was not very good so I quit my studies and searching for the job. My dream was after B.com then I complete M.com then CA but I couldn't do that. I'm pursuing because I'm interested in understanding how businesses work and want a solid foundation in commerce and finance. It opens up various career paths in accounting, finance, management, and more. Plus, it's a versatile degree that can lead to professional certifications like CA, CS, or MBA.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The course is of course outdated. Teaching methods are old. No case studies, competitions or project of any sort is there in the curriculum. Although a project of 100 marks is there in the final sem, but I don't think that's enough. There is no practicality in the curriculum and usability in career. The syllabus really needs an uplifment.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The curriculum is average , I chose this course because I wanted to do an honours degree and I'm from commerce background so my first pick was B.Com . They really put efforts to prepare students for well future , as I said earlier some teachers are genuinely very good helpful supporting and good at what they do . Something they need to approve is the 70% attendance criteria, I think they need to understand not every student is just persuing graduation they are doing some other courses or jobs etc so they can't maintain 70% attendance . The frequency of timing is average
