Course Curriculum Overview
The subjects chosen by the DU faculty for my course every sem are very interesting. In my 2 years, we have been given the opportunity to study various subjects which gives a comprehensive understanding of the course one is pursuing and helps in deciding their further studies subject as well. Exams are conducted every sem, which ranged between 4-5 months. Practical methods could be employed for more real life understanding
Placement Experience
3rd year students are eligible for placements. Companies usually hire from the commerce department but many hire students from arts disciplines as well. I think on an average, minimum 7 gpa would ve sufficient for securing good placements. Big 4 companies also visit and massively recruit each year.
Fees and Financial Aid
The college's fees is pretty similar to what other DU colleges charge as their fees. It is around 15,000 INR to 20,000 INR. Scholarships are provided to university toppers on the day of the farewell but no other aid as such is provided in my knowledge.
Campus Life
Our college has many societies. Ranging from the theatre club to thr entrepreneurship society, Gargi has it all. Annual fest and diwali fest are the 2 main events conducted. Other than these, some or the other event is going on every week, so campus life is good.
Admission
Admission is now being given through the CUET exam. I chose Gargi, due to its massive popularity, and its reputation for my course. Gargi, is more flexible and accommodating to students demands as compared to other colleges.
Faculty
The faculty members of the arts department is quite understanding and well qualified at the same time. The teachers listen to students demands ans treat them right. Psychology department's teachers are the best, from college rumours. There are Internal assessments and Class assessments that are conducted with regular university exams. Rest varies according to the course.
Night Life
There isn't a hostel here at Gargi. Out station students live in PG's in South Delhi. Their night life definitely seems fun. As for college canteen, it could use some changes for sure, but the nescafe stall is great and caters to all the students pretty well.
