Course Curriculum Overview

4

The aspects of political science like political theory and ideals, institutions in political thoughts and politics since colonialism etc are topics which coincide with upsc Political science optional paper so i choose it. For further academics like M.A or phd you can proceed with topics related to international relations, political thinker or writer or becoming a professor etc by which you can get jobs in embassy, foreign secretary etc Areas of improvement will be the optional paper courses not about core. The syllabus of optional papera should be more comprehensive. Frequency of exams is 2 times per year that is semester according to your options you have to give 4 exams on optional and 3 main

Placement Experience

3

In 3rd year semester student will eligible for campus palcements. Many companies include amazon and IBM etc have visted it and highest package was 9 or 10 LPA and average is 3.5 lpa. If you get more than 8 cgpa you will get placement with ease but this college ia undergraduate collge and offer arts and commerce and sciences but not engineering so there will be less pacakge but maximum students come here to graduate as it is good for there preparation for government exams like upsc, railway police etc

Fees and Financial Aid

I got admission in this collge due to my cuet score and this college belong to delhi university which is public university so the fees is low. I have to pay 16670 rupees for my 1st year ba political science honours and it inculdes everything. The fees for ba program will be around 12-13k. For all the categories fee is same and there will be some scholarships if you actively participate in societies of collge and get merit.

Campus Life

4

There are many fests that will happen here like freshers, dandiya, fairwell, annual college function and other festival programs. There are many many books in library it include every subject and it is easy to access as they are distinguished according to content and subject. There is canteen and clean classroom and ac library and garden for peaceful sitting. Ground is there in that many sports can be played like cricket, football, volleyball etc Many societies are there in this college it includes more than 40 societies. Every society has separate content and subject.

Admission

I have my preference for opting north campus by getting 727 marks in cuet out off 800.but due to no reservation and a mistake in preference list i got this college. Process is simple after your CUET results or beforre you have to register with DU and pay fee of 250 for general and for sc/st it is 100 or 150. Then you will get application number and you just select your colleges and program according to your eligible courses and rank them. I selected hindu, kirori mal, ramjaa, hansraj college for ba hons political science but didint get them because of high cut off. I also selected sri venkateswara and ARSD college but missed with 5-6 marks. So before opting preference list make sure you double check it. After there will be councelling round and you will get seat if your cut off and rank matches then you accept it and pay for the college. After that principal will check your certificates online you submitted in regestration. If everything good you will get seat approved and thats it. Now you can directly go to college.

Faculty

4

For every subject there is one teacher. For example in my course there are three core subjects that is DSC-1,2,3 there is one teacher for every subject. All the faculties have done phd and well qualified. There teaching skills are good and they also engage and calrify doubts. There is also specific teachers alloted for GE, VAC, SEC, AEC optional papers and they are also good. There is nothing to show they are bad. Exams is that for every year there will be 2 semester and exams is only for semester. For me the difficulty is medium so max students pass it. Ciruculam ia also good and may contain the topics that is important for entrance tests like upsc, military exams

Other Applied Colleges

Hindu College | Bachelor of Arts [BA] {Hons.} (Political Science)

Placement Experience:

The placement opportunities are mainly for commerce stream departments but the humanities stream also are offered internship from the government ministries such as ministry of culture and Home ministry. There are many private companies that come to offer placements. The students from 3rd year in particular apply for internships. The highest package iffered is 500000 and the average is 250000. About 45% students get placements. My plan after getting the degree is to go for higher studies.

As a future law student philosophy was one of the options which was good to opt. Secondly, comparatively less people opt it and it can be one of the better choices if you are preparing for upsc and taking it as an optional. Teaching can be made more interactive as the topics are really interesting

Remarks:

Positive : the faculties are good and I could say our college is the meeting place of various cultures ranging from Kerala to jammukashmir Negative: the infrastructure is poor. Labs and libraries are not so good. And there are stray dogs who often steps into classes and make us afraid. College is not fully air conditioned but is on processing.
