Likes

My college provides good placements with high salary package for every department in multinational companies.
Faculties are so friendly and helpful. Good teaching quality.
Anti ragging campus. Strict punishments for ragging.

Dislikes

Small campus area. Not a enjoyable college life
Shortage of class rooms. Not having a permanent classroom.
Not near the bus stop. We have to walk 15 to 20 minutes to reach nearest bus stop.

This curriculum prepare so many opportunities to build a better career. I'm trying to get a job in KSEB. With good salary.

Internships Opportunities

Students wanted to go to internships for activity point and improve knowledge about the subject. Students attend internships from industriese out of the college. Main project is conducted in 8th semester.

Placement Experience

Every passout students are placed in different companies by college placement. From 7th semester students become eligible for campus placement. Kalki tech is the core company of EEE in MEC. 100 percentage placement.

Fees and Financial Aid

The year wise fees is 40000. I'm sc category student. I have egrants scholarship. But fees for college events like techfest, arts etc. are mandatory. Management seat students have to pay 35000 per semester.

Campus Life

Excel is the Asia's second largest techfest conducted by MEC. That is the only event students can enjoy in there college life in MEC. NSS club of MEC is so active. And they did somany things. I'm not a NSS volunteer.

Admission

This college have comparatively high placement persentage. Good classmates we can solve our doubts. Discuss topics with them. Entrence exam is the admission process of the college. And also available management seat booking and NRI seats.

Faculty

The faculty to student relationship is too good and friendly. Faculties are so helpful and teaching quality is good. Faculty put big efforts for students. Internal exams are comparatively easy but University exams are tough.

IIIT KOTTAYAM - a Honest review

Placement Experience:

As seniors said the average package is around 10lpa.If you have descent skills and above 8 cgpa you will get this average package. If you upskill yourself with effort which many students do here then you can also get above 15lpa which many seniors got.The highest package was off-campus by an ECE Student in Google despite having cgpa around 6.He had very good skills as a full stack developer.

IIST - A good campus to live but with high restrictions.

The campus placement is there in the campus.A lot of companies visit to the campus. From this year more private companies are visiting because of the breaking of bond with ISRO due to which students are getting good package.

Placement Experience:

Students are eligible for placement from the 7th semester and internship from 3rd semester. You can apply for internship on your own right from first semester but college gives aid from 3rd semester. The major recruiter is ISRO which offers 40-45 jobs for aerospace engineering. Also other companies like CDac Airbus Boeing and DRDO and HAL visit for recruitment. Nearly 85-90% students get placed while some opt for Higher education and research too. My primary goal is to get into ISRO also I will be preparing for gate examination to complete my IIT dream.

MEC EEE REVIEW

I applied to cet, tkm, gec for branches eee and ec My first option was cet for which i couldn't get admission due to my rank. Cet requires rank below 1000. And my second option was mec (my college). I choose this college over gec and tkm because it was in my home town itself and it had better placement opportunities. MEC Thrikkakkara: Strong Academics and Placements, but Room for Infrastructure Growth

My cousin studied here few years back and is now working a top tech company.I applied for Cs in MSRIT and AMRITA,but the fee structure over there is too high(around 3-4 lakh per year).Here overall fee amount is equivalent the yearly fee.To get admission in MEC,a person needs to write keam exam .Three phases of allotment are held in here.At the beginning of all allotment,we could change our preferences.For CSE BATCH,CUTOFF RANK FOR merit is around 2k and Management around 3.5k .For CSBS it's around 3k for Merit and 7-8k for management....Read More

Good for social life but very minimal infrastructure and facilities

The reason I chose this college over other options were due to the prime location in which it is present and due to the city it is present in . MEC is renowned for the placement opportunities available in this college and is placed in the top 3 colleges in Kerala in terms of placemenets . The admission is based on the student's KEAM rank and this rank decides whether you get the Merit seat or management seat . For others you also have an NRI seat .
