Remarks

This prestigious South Campus college excels in academics but lacks behind in infrastructure. The administration is helpful and provides assistance on your endless inquiries. The college must emphasize on practical exposure and media lab for the Journalism Department.

Course Curriculum Overview

3.5

The course curriculum is relevant to the degree I am enrolled in. It is synchronized to the field and you will have a good insight into the profession after you have spent adequate time in the college. The on-field experience is helpful as well. There are Guest lecturers who share their experiences of the profession with the students.

Placement Experience

3.5

Placements in DCAC for the Journalism department are negligible and you can't rely on placements after the end of course. So it is better to find internships during your college tenure and have enough work experience before you graduate. Also, there are internship fairs organized by the placement Cell where you can find a good opportunity for yourself.

College Events

4

Almost every course in DCAC has its own fest and events. Besides these, the annual Fest of DCAC Ambrosia is a grand one. The college provides funds for every activity held on the college premises. In a nutshell, You won't get bored as there is something or the other happening in the college most of the time.

Fee Structure And Facilities

The fee structure of BA(Hons.)Journalism is nearly 18000rs annually. The fee is to be submitted at the time of admission on the DU portal. Other than this there is a semester Examination fee which is <1000rs(depends on Course you are enrolled for). If you are an outstation candidate you might have to pay for accommodation in college surroundings.

Fees and Financial Aid

NO, I haven't opted for any scholarship or education loan as the college fee is subsidized and very reasonable. The total estimate is around Rs. 18000 per year and semester examination fee(1000 per semester).

Campus Life

3

The campus life in DCAC is quite interesting and enjoyable. The Netaji Nagar and the Mini market are the hot destinations of students. The campus is full of life and activities. The lush Green campus is relaxing and a good place to hang out. The societies in the college are pro-active and give good exposure and experience to the students.

Alumni/Alumna

The alumni network of DCAC is fairly strong. The Alumni network is also beneficial in providing students with jobs and internships.

Admission

Admission in DCAC is purely cut-off based. After you have cleared the cut-off to get to the college with your documents and if you fulfill the criteria with the required documents then, congratulations! your admission is confirmed. The staff is helpful and supportive during the admission procedure as well.

Faculty

4

The faculty of the Department of Journalism is highly knowledgable and cooperative. They have good experience in the profession. They are quite supportive and will help you academically whenever you need them. You won't feel the burden anytime with them.

Course Curriculum Overview:

I have a keen interest in theoretical subjects. Even in my school time, I liked theory subjects more than practical or numerical subjects. This is one of the reason I chose this specific course. Another reason is that I like reading non fictional novels. At the age of 15, I started reading novels but after diving into this course I'm liking the fictional novels too. I don't think this course needs to improve anything. It is in it's best form at the point.

Placement Experience:

I think students become eligible for campus placements in 5th semester as now they are mature enough to be given such responsibility and to secure their future. I am not aware about the number of companies and offers. I am also not aware about the highest or lowest package offered but the average package for my college is ?6.5 lakhs per annum. The cgpa should be above 7.5 for better chances of getting placements. My plan is to get a good college placement in starting of the 5th semester.

I liked Economics as a subject in my class 12th and I choose this course for my undergraduate degree. I really liked the curriculum as it includes both practical knowledge and theory too. It's not theory heavy. Course includes some real life problems that I can relate very well..

Course Curriculum Overview:

I find thr course curriculum quite relevant. Geography is a very dynamic and practical subject and our course is designed that way to provide students a comprehensive knowledge of the course. We usually have two theory and one practical subject related to the course providing all the necessary learning and also preparing us for further research work.
