Course Curriculum Overview

The syllabus structure of KU is totally based on the IIT JAM exam syllabus. That helps students very much in future preparation for Ph.D. Also KU offers special classes for competitive exam preparations including SPSC or UPSC as well as helps to get placements in the private sector. And professors are very highly qualified they can teach this syllabus in depth and with care

Fees and Financial Aid

The cost of education is very affordable for each student, especially after the amount of scholarship they provide or are allowed to get. State level or national level many scholarships are available to students, independent of gender caste or religion.

Campus Life

There are some hints of student politics on campus. they're divided into 2-3 political agendas, not everyone is involved in it though. every department organises a reunion day as well as cultural programme days on teachers day or other important days for better involvement of students in the university lifestyle

Admission

No entrance exam is there for taking admission. but students from home university as well as other universities require to confirm a minimum required percentage or cgpa to apply for admission. It's usually lower for home university students than others. But the process is very clear and transparent

Faculty

All faculty of the mathematics department are well-deserved and highly educated. They provide international-level of study materials. Some of them have done M.Phil or doctorate from foreign universities. Student-teacher ratio may feel not appreciable sometimes though

Placement Experience:

Actually this is a general degree University , so I must mention that placement facalities are not so good. But yes , Job Fair is organised in University by some external agencies which offer jobs varying 2-2.5 lakhs per annum . But in the university most of the students do not accept that jobs. Half of the students are more interested on the higher studies. So ahet completing the fourth semester they prepare for PhD. And the another half are preparing for central government sponsored exams like CGL, CHSL, RRB, SBI , IBPS, LIC etc. University has a significant number of students who have qualified for Government Competitive exams.

Actually Some of the Local Companies & Private banks Offer placements which are averagely worth 250000/-. Some of the Students appear for it , but the Number is Very less. Actually In Present Circumstances , Most students wants a stable Government, Especially Central Gov job . So they Prepare for exams like SSC , SBI , IBPS, LIC , RRB etc.

Niper Kolkata: from starting to end

Placement Experience:

2nd year students are eligible for the campus placement. Sai, Hetero, mendine, dr. Reddys etc companies visities for the campus placement. Offers ranges from 5-12 lpa. 60% students gets placed, 10% goes for higher studies and others get job off campus in my department. Other departments has 100% placement. My plans are pHd from Niper as it provides vast knowledge and instrumental exposure.

My decision to choose this course depended on the fact that this course provides you with the opportunity to get various jobs in the industries with a high lpa. But this college does not help much in that aspect. All I had to do was myself. It is my humble opinion that the institution should improve its guidance in the area of its teaching methods. The exams were twice a year and were quite difficult on their own.
