Entrance Preview
I took the Lateral Entry Exam for Diploma students and got entered in to the second year in Model Engineering College. I got a rank of 90 in this. I opt for this college because i heard this college is very good in its curriculum, very good successful rate among students and most of all very good placements. This college has a record placement status of 92.1%.
Course Curriculum Overview
Our college is under the Cochin University Of Science And Technology and their syllabus and provides enough exposure to research and important topics through the academics. They have the best pattern of examinations and subjects aspect. Very good focus on research.
Internships Opportunities
Yes, our college provides internship. Its starts in the mid third year. As i am about to enter that period, I don't know very detail about those. Last time a lost of companies like Actiotech, Appolo Tyers, Bosh, Cochin Port Trust, Fact, Idea and a lot more.
Placement Experience
Just like internship status, The placement status are also very very good. Even in just completing half way through the academic year, About 60% of students are placed in very good companies. Bosh, National Instruments, TCS, Myntra, etc are some of the companies who have frequently coming for placements.
College Events
Our college is also best known for the tech fest which happens annually every year. Its name is Excel. It is very successful, students form various colleges comes to participates. And people from various parts of India and world takes part in online events. The local support is also very good for this event. Like Excel, Our arts and sports competitions are made very enjoyable with maximum participation form every students. Each year a Senate is selected and they forms 4-5 groups and whole students in college are divided accordingly in it. And Lastly our students participation in the University should be recalled as they are the best and we get the first place usually all years.
Fee Structure And Facilities
The fee structure in our college is divided in to 2 segments. The merit seat which has 35000rs and the management seat which has 65000rs. There are various scholarships available for merit as well as minority students. If a student happens to come form very low family,there are provisions by the college to help him/her out. The SC/ST students also doesnt have exam fees as well as any hostel fees.
Fees and Financial Aid
There are different scholarships available. One is the Merit Cum Means scholarship for minority students. Another one is E-grant offered by Kerala government. The E-grant scholarship gives about 12000rs and MCM scholarship gives about 30000rs. Also the Sc/St students don't have to pay and will get laptops and yearly stipend.
Campus Life
The campus life here is the best. It meets every aspect of a college life. Education, Fun, Party, etc. The gender ration is great. The number of girls in the college is almost same as that of boys. And the participation of both gender irrespective of the activities and jobs for colleges are great. There are various clubs and organisations run by students like the placement cell run by students. The placement cell is aimed in assisting students to get placed in good companies. The girls and boys are in ratio 2:1 from each class.The race,religion,sexual orientation are going in harmony. All religious festivals are celebrated by the whole college. Every events are given equal priority. There is no political party in the college.
Hostel Facilities
Another best thing about this college is the men's hostel. This mess has the best food available compared to some of the restaurants out there. The price rate is also very low, with monthly bill of around 2500rs including very generous menu every day. The
Alumni/Alumna
The alumni meets happen every year. The pass out students comes and attends it. They also help the placement cell in acquiring good jobs. They also provide help to college as well as hostels. The seniors are always at help when u need them.
Exam Structure
The exams are planned very early so that the students have time for planning their time ahead. Usually lab exams are after theory so that they gets more idea about what they are doing. The University exams are half-yearly and there are 2 series exams. The
