Likes

One of the most beautiful campuses. The serene campus makes it a perfect place for academic focus.
It is the only college offering BMMMC in DU.
The staff is well-qualified and supportive.

Dislikes

It is isolated from the North-campus, even though it's 3 metro stations away.
The college societies can be more active than usual.

Course Curriculum Overview

The syllabus of the course of the B.A. program (History and Political Science) is highly relevant. You will find a detailed study on contemporary topics as well as ancient theories in political science. The curriculum of history is vast and varied.

Class Size: 50Course Fees: INR 21000 per year

Fees and Financial Aid

The fee structure of B.A. Program (History and Political Science) course goes up to an average of 20,000 in IPCW. Apart from this, you have to pay Examination fees twice a year for semester exams. The college provides prizes to meritorious students. There are merit-based scholarships.

Campus Life

College life is good, you can enroll yourself in various societies and participate in various completions that take place from time to time. The annual fest Shruti is usually fun along with all departments having their fests. The library has two floors and is better than most.

Admission

After getting CUET results, one has to apply through the Delhi University website to enroll. Check the website regularly for updates and the last date of various submissions. Please be careful while arranging the preference list of courses and colleges. Do give preference to your course over college/campus.

You can find professors from all age groups, young as well as highly experienced ones. All of them are approachable and supportive. Academically, they are always ready to help you. The learning experience is truly cherishable.

the curriculum is decided by delhi university, economics wing and is followed by all the colleges of du, although few topic are often irrevelent which teachers tend to skip. i do feel that curriculum is pretty old and they should introduce new topic which are more related to reak=l world and give us real life experience not just bookish knowledge which is irelevent. they should also ask for students input related to their curriculum, teachers sometimes tedn to just do book reading. internal exmas are taken frequently and difficulty is 3 out of 5

Course Curriculum Overview:

It is a good course. I went for it mainly because I am preparing for UPSC CSE (pretty common around here). In that context the course is helpful, and also for those aiming to enter research, academia, museology, archaeology etc. However there are not many placement opportunities and for most it would be better to pursue masters later on. Teaching methods are inclusive, both english and hindi medium students can comfortably study. However both students and faculties have some complaints regarding the curriculum changes under NEP such as the sequence of courses in each sem.

Placement Experience:

Placements is for 3rd year students. Many good companies visit our campus like bajaj capital, oberoi group. Highest package is around 22 lakhs. We have a lot of internship and placement opportunities come in for students.

There's a very active placement cell in my college. They conduct placement drives, webinars and workshops. Both the jobs and internships are offered. The best package was of 2024 offering 23 Lpa and the average is around 6 Lpa.

Course is rightly designed. Plus the teachers often suggest books that can be read from library regarding course topics. The library is very nice here. I used to study in the library for long hours. Academic Excellence and Dream Professors, Great Crowd

Placement Experience:

The college has a placement cell which comes up with lots and lots of internship and job offers throughout the year, you get multiple new job opportunities every week but the campus placement is not all that great, B Com courses have somewhat decent placements. the college doesn't push very much or try much to get students placed, you're on your own.

Generally, after BA no one is placed and even if we apply for a job we don't get a good package. So, students generally go for masters or some other courses through which they can get placements. Talking of college placement and internship cell we don't have very good facilities as very limited companies are there for recruiting students. Many students don't even get the internship. This is a major negative point of college.

Overall college experience at IPCW

I applied through cuet only. Indraprastha College was my second preference after lady shree ram college. The department is one of the bests on Delhi university and I m quite content with the faculty here (except a few teachers). I chose this College because i searched through various websites and specially the psychology department of this college was rated good, so that's why. a good experience

The admission process for this and any other DU college is fairly simple which is to sit for the CUET examination which is an objective based paper and also to make a decent preference list to get into the desired college and course. My decision to choose Indraprastha college for women was because it provided my desired course and my marks aligned with it. I also applied to other DU colleges but am satisfied with my current position as it provides a well-structured academic base and gathers a much more decent crowd than any other DU college.
