Course Curriculum Overview
The curriculum, B.Tech in ECE was chosen by me on the basis of my personal interest in electronic devices and after I enrolled in the course with time I got to know the advantages of this Branch like the versatality this Branch holds between IT and ELECTRONICS field The curriculum that our College follows provides us with enough knowledge to deal with real world problems which we could face in our job The improvement I suggest is that we should be more tech-leaned in our learning methods like using laptops and computers for making innovations, etc. Our colleges happens to take 2 mid sems and a the semester exam in a particular semester in which the mid sems are standard ones to help students know their strength and weaknesses while the semester is to test our knowledge and intake as a student.
Internships Opportunities
Companies like TCS, ValueLabs, NRI Fintech, Think Analytics, Accenture offer internships to the Students of IEM. Even IEMLabs which is a company of IEM itself offers internships to the students of very first year where we work for innovation and to make different models and patent them.
Placement Experience
The placement our college offers is pretty nice With an average package of 5lakhs per annum and higesht package of 72 Lakhs our college stands top among the Private Universities of the State of West Bengal
Fees and Financial Aid
The fee during this whole is a lot more as compared to other Universities and Colleges of our city, and it should be reduced accordingly But I would say we don't feel TOO MUCH that our money is being wasted rather everything is offered to us as a student, but they can definitely do better in this price. Scholarships are available in our colleges like Swami Vivekanand Scholarship, etc. Looking towards internship
Campus Life
Our campus life is also a decent one, expect for the fact that the Physical Campus is not enough large for big events, otherwise Club Involvement and event participantion is a very interesting and thrilling process that we experience during fests
Admission
The admission I took was through an entrance exam IEMJEE which happended in 3 phases and published our ranks cumulatively and according to our rank and choice we were offered branches The eligibility of of Admission was pretty simple - a score of more than 75% in PCM in 10th and 12th Board. The improvement I suggest in Admission is that thay should issue different rank cards in different phases and not cumulatively add our ranks
Faculty
The faculty to student ratio must be in between 1:30 to 1:40 and honestly this ratio doesn't impact much rather it very much depends on who the teacher is and how he/she is teaching in a way that attracts the students Most of the faculties are highly educated in their respective fields, many of them are engineers from IITs NITs and other prestigious colleges in the Country, some are also alumunis of Foreign Universities like Standard, Oxford. They are good in mentorship and providing proper authentic knowledge to their students. Approachability honestly depends on person to person but most of our teachers in 2nd yr are open to help out the students, though some have their boundaries like patience or short availability
