I appreciate several aspects of college. The infrastructure is impressive with centralised ac and digital classroom. The focus on discipline and punctuality is commendable . Sports activities and gym facilities are excellent.
Our day starts at morning 5.30 muster with some running and workouts . After the classes @ 1545 cadets will be engaging in gym activities,sports . I myself in band committee daily practicing band and Marchfast
The ship in campus is well equipped and we have a hands on experience as we do on ship . The VR experience is impressive.

Dislikes

Course Curriculum Overview

The GME course is 1 year per sea course where we have to cover the entire marine engineering. The course is split into two semesters and the exams are conducted by collage itself and the exams in terms of difficulty level is manageable .

Class Size: 40Course Fees: INR 350000 per year

Placement Experience

Regarding placements companies like VR maritime ,Goodwood ,Eastway, BW , Dynocom , Marshall visit our campus once in a month and are selecting cadets with interviews. Truely by Gods grace I got placed as engine cadet in Synergy Maritime. If you stay with good marks and knowledge in academics you will have higher chances of getting placed .

Fees and Financial Aid

The fees for GME is ? 3,95,000 which include tuition fees, accommodation , food , sports, uniforms and gym activities. We need to pay caution deposit of ?20,000 which will be refunded at the end of the course if there is no damage to college property.

Campus Life

The campus has variety of sports activities like basketball . Cricket, football , swimming and also many indoor games for our mind refreshment . Our college also provides technical fests like paper presentation, quizzes etc .

Hostel Facilities

Regarding hostel our collage has 5 blocks . Four cadets can occupy 1 room with attached bathroom and space for study . Himt has intercultural facilities where we can mingle with different culture all over India .

Hostel Fee: INR 55000 per year

Admission

The eligibility of the course is 65% in 10th,12th and degree. Regarding application form ,fees and available dates all are mentioned in the official HIMT website. There will a enterance exams which will be not so difficult.

Faculty

The faculty here are mostly chief engineers and master mariners who are well qualified for teaching also . The faculty to student ratio in classes are 1:40 and in labs 1:8 which provides good interactions with students. The faculties are good enough to clear any doubts immediately with basic knowledge where we can able to understand well and good .

HIMT COLLEGE REVIEW

Placement Experience:

For ETO there is sponsorship as well as placements. If you are sponsored by any company you don't need to attend any placement drives. But if you are not sponsored they were providing placements in the first month onwards. The shipping companies like MAERSK LINE, BSM, MSC GOOD WOOD, MARSHALL, and many more are taking the cadets. Almost 90 % are placed before leaving the campus. As far as lam concerned I will go for sailing after the company's induction programme.

Life that I lived in HIMT was good.

Placement Experience:

The placement were depending upon the performance of the cadet, however the cadets are the HIMT will give chances will be given to atten the interview , there we should perform. So the placements entirely lies in our hands only.

Placement Experience:

For my Course, placements from top companies like Maersk,BSM,MSC have taken in 23 students already with 2 months left for course completion. Roughly 70% of the students are placed. We had placement offers from the above companies from the starting of the course itself.

As a first-generation mariner, I've always wanted to join the merchant navy. After joining himt for the gme course I came to know of the dicipline that is being practised here. The faculty and the infrastructure here are of the highest quality. The exams and internals and orals conducted during the course will definitely help you in preparation for the class 4 examination

100% placements are not available, but the cadets scoring above 80% above in academics always stand a chance of appearing for placement interviews when the shipping companies visit the campus. After completion of the course also we will be called up by the college for various placement opportunities.

I have applied to Angelo eastern. But the exam date is after HIMT's joining date. I have already sponsored by a shipping company called BSM, they told me to take the course from this college and complete the course with minimum 65% aggregate. I have applied to Angelo eastern before this sponsorship exam. I got this sponsorship and they told me to study in this college.
