Remarks

Well the college as a whole has lot of rooms for improvement. A lot can be done to ensure participation of students in studies and research more than ever. Library should be made available 24x7. Also security of students from outsiders in college campus n

Course Curriculum Overview

As for the course structure there is enough in curriculum for the students to explore as university follows relevant and upto date syllabus for all the courses. But there is very little support for research from teachers and faculties and most of them would be more than happy to give lectures and pack their bags for the day. So its the student who needs to keep up for its interest.

Internships Opportunities

Internships as such are not provided. Mostly students get internship on their own. But college do support your internship with all the paper works needed.

Placement Experience

Placements for special branches of engineering like safety and fire,rubber technology,marine and ship buildings are very good with highest packeage upto 15 lpa INR. Placements are average for CSE ECE &EEE in main stream engineering. Mostly top it firms conduct placements and students get decent jobs in top IT firms. Top placements being 13-13 lpa. Placements for civil and mechanical are not that good in no still a few people manage to get decent placements in companies like punj lyod Mahindra etc.

There are 3 Main college fest in a academic year along with numerous celebrations by various departments.

Fee Structure And Facilities

Fee is very nominal compared to other engineering colleges but being a govt college fee is relatively higher compared to other govt funded institutions. But still less than 50k a year during my time.

Sone scholarships are offered to financially weak students. Also local students who cone under certain reserved categories are provided with scholarships.

Campus Life

Campus life is pretty much what you expect in a college. Hostel are good along with. Ample ground and greenery in campus.

Alumni/Alumna

Well proper alumni network isn't there but seniors are very helpful while in college and bond you share with them helps after college too.

Placement Experience:

we are eligible for placement from the 7th sem. Many famous and small compines vist our college. Infosys, WIPRO, TCS vist our college. But the big companies take only few student. Highest package was 1,00,000. And the average package is around 4,00,000. Almost all students gets placed from the campus .

My Experience at NIT Calicut

Course Curriculum Overview:

I would rate the EEE course curriculum around 8-8.5 /10 in terms of relevance.The curriculum provides strong fundamentals in core electrical engineering subjects and prepares students well for core jobs and higher studies.The course curriculum was revised in 2023, and our batch is the 1st batch under the new curriculum. however, there are still limited coding ,AI and data science subjects in EEE ,which could be improved. Exams are conducted times per semester and are generally moderately difficult.

Placement Experience:

The placements here are quite good, but not great. Because only 50% of students in a class are getting placed. From S7 onwards the placements have been started for our department. But for other departments, from S8 only companies have arrived. For CSE department, many companies are coming which include Cognizant, SOTI, Mitsogo, EY, 6D Technologies, etc. Our senior batch students have placed at many companies in this. But comparing with other senior batches, the placements at our batch is really bad.

My journey at CUSAT: A students perspective

I also wrote KEAM exam along with CUSAT in which I was able to secure a rank well enough to get Mechanical Engineering in CET, Trivandrum which I got in allotment. But since my mind was already set to take ECE as my degree due to my interest and passion for electronics and computers. And yes I do recomment CUSAT to everyone. To join CUSAT you have to write the CUSAT CAT entrance exams and then the seat are allotted based on the rank you earn in the entrance examinations. And usually a rank around 1k can get you CS, 1.5k can get you ECE and SFE, 2k can get you IT, 3.5k can get you EE and 7k can get you ME and CE....Read More
