Remarks

College management is fair enough we have Doaa sir handling problems regarding management it's a good college which focuses on practicals and good projects to get the beat out of you.

Entrance Preview

Reputed college, and also mechanical engineering in Thapar is really good availability of resources and opportunities make you fall for it There are societies and clubs doing all the activities and you have a whole bunch of options ahead of you whatever you wish you go straight to it.

Course Curriculum Overview

5

The course curriculum is pretty good here they strictly follow trinity college in Dublin structure is relevant and also the teachers are good they do deliver it very easily some subjects we might find useless but at the end, it's worth it subject related to your particular brand are taught with utmost importance.

Internships Opportunities

Yes, the college provides internship many companies come and there are the proper interview and group discussion. In industrial internships stipend is pretty less and there is no stipend in research internships.

Placement Experience

3.5

Placement and job opportunities are great especially for computer science branch there are some very good companies coming for recruitments and in other beaches also companies are coming and there are ample of job opportunities you can expect a decent placement.

College Events

5

There are so many events celebrated in Thapar except cultural fest which is the way to common these days since it's in Punjab so Lohri is celebrated Deepawali Of course and also comes the Halloween all the festivals are celebrated with great cheer and there is a good vibe throughout the year.

Fee Structure And Facilities

The fee structure is very expensive it might be tough for a common man to bear the fee but it is worth it all the labs are fully equipped which gives you a little satisfaction but then the development fee is way too high they charge ample amount for that.

Fees and Financial Aid

Yes if have a good score in jee mains and have a good percentage in boards then there is a sure chance of scholarships also otherwise loans are also provided some contract of Student Loan is there with sbi.

Campus Life

4

Campus life is amazing you can have the beat time of your life here, labs are fully equipped sports competition are held regularly with college and intra college both. Robotics workshops are held once a year but it's very basic you get no good out of it.

Hostel Facilities

2.5

Hostel facilities are good in the first year there are no air conditioning rooms but then from second year onwards you get fully equipped rooms and for mess food, it is reverse you get good food in the first year but afterward the mess food is not good they have a contract with Sodexo.

Alumni/Alumna

Alumni network is not that strong but you can always get in touch with seniors and they are always ready to help in all possible ways.

Exam Structure

Exam structure is well organized it is divided into two phase mid-semester and end-semester before each there are sessionals lab assignments and several other projects they always try to keep you busy which is good. Exams are set quite easy So you can score well.

Admission

Admission is based on jee mains marks but you also have to apply for Thapar institute separately if you are in the list with appropriate marks then you can directly apply for it in the online counseling after that comes offline counseling if you haven't applied online you can still go for offline counseling.

Faculty

3

The senior faculty is pretty good they are very qualified and deliver the subject properly but tutorials are taken by Ph.D. students who are not experienced and lack knowledge in the subject and labs are fully equipped with good teachers lab attendants to deliver it pretty well.

Placement Experience:

Placements are not that good. Although companies come, there is a lack of mass recruiters or reputed organizations. One has to grind hard here for placements. If you're a CS student, you will have to face immense competition here. As for core branches, placements are severely dry. Students gets eligible in 4th year onwards for placements. Some of recruiters here are Trident, TCS, Reliance, Sonalika and other few. Every company offers around 10-15 selected students for a job. Highest package ever was 15LPA and average is 3.2LPA. Percentage placed is only around 15% here. My plans after the degree are to apply for govt exams.

The interest in coding influenced me to choose this subject and course. The curriculum gets me ready for a 9-5 job which kind of gets hectic. The teachers could maybe schedule classes to give the students time to study what they want to and if they wish to do a course outside the university they have the time to do so rather than just going by the university curriculum
