Likes

Good faculty , teachers and staffs are always there for us.
No ragging. Seniors are awesome in each year. They are always there to help us and guide us.
College fest and arts and sports day are really big and awesome. Packed with many games, workshop, party and all.

Dislikes

Campus is really small, little space for hanging out with friends and all.
There are only 2 main fests.After these two there are actually nothing that's great.

Course Curriculum Overview

It's a good course. This semester was short and the syllabus was still same and there were no consideration on us students. So giving us time to prepare and hone our skill is an area of improvement. In upcoming years there will be enough subjects to understand and know the course really well. There are labs which will help us to home our skills and develop skills that are useful for jobs.

Placement Experience

There is campus placement. It's a very good one. There is campus placement cell in our college to help students to get placed. Lots of companies like synopsis, TATA, d&Shaw, etc. recruits us. Almost all the students get placed from our college itself. One of the main reason to chose this college was of their placements for majority of the students.

Fees and Financial Aid

In management seats the fee is 75000 and for merit it is 45000 annually. There are many scholarships and all. Also there is scholarship for sc/st students. There is also no fee for students that are financially Campus recruitment starts from 3rd year. There are lot of companies to recruit MEC students from statistics of 2022.

Campus Life

Even though the campus is small, there is no lack for enjoyment and a enjoyable campus life. There are many clubs to join and do any club activities that takes place. Also have special clubs for arts and sports which will encourage students for their talents. Have a peaceful atmosphere overall that is tension free and cool. No ragging and seniors are very friendly. Small campus provide us a good bond between seniors and juniors since everyone is on the same building and seen them often created a friendly vibe.

Admission

Admission process was kind of delayed in my time. You need to take keam entrance exam for merit and management seats. Cutoff was 50% for general and 40% for SC/ST. Once got then the admission process was pretty simple. Everything was done in 20-30 minute.

Faculty

MEC have a really good faculty. We can approach them without any fear and anytime. Some teacher provide extra classes for students who are having hard time getting the concept. They are not too strict and not too careless. Concerned about our mental health. Each teacher teaches us in their own unique way, some we will like and some we don't. We can talk about how the faculty is for the students in a student council by a representative for each subject.

College Feels Like Home

Placement Experience:

The placement department in our college is great and is always trying to bring good companies to the college. The placement training starts from semester 7. Our top recruiter include Infosys, TCS, Wipro, NocoBD, Delloite, etc. and our mechanical, civil, EEE,ECE all got placements with avg of 4lpa.The highest package where 12 Lpa for SAP. My plans is to get a good job and lead a stable life.

Students in 7th and 8th semester are eligible to sit for campus placements. Companies like Oracle, Goldman Sachs, L&T, Bajaj, Caterpillar and PSU's like BEL,HPCL and BPCL come to the college usually the coding companies offer aroung 35-40 LPA CTC and the core PSU companies offer around 17-18 LPA. Highest Package is 51 LPA and an Average Package of 12 LPA. Nearly 85% students from Circuit and CS branch get placed and around 60% in core branches who sit for placements, My plans after getting the degree is to join MBA to learn how business world works and how the money flows

My honest review of ICET

Placement Experience:

The students are eligible for attending campus placement from semester 7. Some companies that visits ICET are Utc global, Layland, DeltaX, etc. The average package given by the companies are 3 lpa. The percentage of students getting placed are around 40%. I plan to placed at any company.

nehru has implemented placement traninng from the start of the course itself, from first year itself we get to placement classes which made us adapt and get to know how interviews are conducted. from 4th year onwards i think students are eligible for placements and more than 75% of students gets placed every year

I applied to cet, tkm, gec for branches eee and ec My first option was cet for which i couldn't get admission due to my rank. Cet requires rank below 1000. And my second option was mec (my college). MEC Thrikkakkara: Strong Academics and Placements, but Room for Infrastructure Growth

My cousin studied here few years back and is now working a top tech company.I applied for Cs in MSRIT and AMRITA,but the fee structure over there is too high(around 3-4 lakh per year).Here overall fee amount is equivalent the yearly fee.To get admission in MEC,a person needs to write keam exam .Three phases of allotment are held in here.At the beginning of all allotment,we could change our preferences.For CSE BATCH,CUTOFF RANK FOR merit is around 2k and Management around 3.5k .For CSBS it's around 3k for Merit and 7-8k for management....Read More

Good for social life but very minimal infrastructure and facilities

The reason I chose this college over other options were due to the prime location in which it is present and due to the city it is present in . MEC is renowned for the placement opportunities available in this college and is placed in the top 3 colleges in Kerala in terms of placemenets . The admission is based on the student's KEAM rank and this rank decides whether you get the Merit seat or management seat . For others you also have an NRI seat .
