Likes
- The first thing I've to admire most about my college is my peers. As the name says it provides a very enthusiastic, intellectual and intelligent peers with different visions in life. More or less they're open enough for discussion over future aspects
- Office and overall curriculum is good. The course provides a horizontal view over the corporate world.
- College provides various opportunities to avail like various courses, internships and case competitions.
Dislikes
- Teachers are not that connected to students out of the classroom. They are not always available to hear out problems.
- Course and exams are pretty tough for normal students. In Bcom many students are into professional degree so college assumes the level of education and sets tough question thereafter.
- They start teaching us from a intermidiate level with a presumption that everyone is enrolled with professional degree and knows the basic very well.
Course Curriculum Overview
1. Curriculum and syllabus is very good. It provides a horizontal view over the corporate world. 2. They prepares us well for real world application through case studies, case competitions and all. 3. They should provide us specific book to study or specific study material. The syllabus is vast and very hard to complete. 4. Exams are pretty difficult like 9/10 and the gap between two semester exams are generally 5 months.
Internships Opportunities
1. Various companies and many new firms are coming to college for internship and all. 2. They comes with different roles like - Business Analyst - Research analyst - sales management - production intern - writing
Placement Experience
1. Students from last year are eligible for placement only. 2. Big 4, Banks and other big companies like DE SHAW, WIPRO come to college for placement. 3. 80% of students applied eventually get placed.
Fees and Financial Aid
1. For Bcom (morning) the fees are generally 36000 per semester and for Bcom-evening the fees is around two times. 2. Scholarship is not available in such way. 3. College provides placements and internship on different companies in different roles like Finance, Operations, Management.
Campus Life
1. Campus life is not that auspicious to describe. Everyone is very busy with their own professional career. 2. College events are pretty good. 3. Library facilities are very good and the best part about that college. 4. NCC and NSS are very active.
Hostel Facilities
1. One fan and one light is provided for each students. 2. Beds are provided and table also with cupboard. 3. Hostel meal is not that good but okay okay. 4. The locality is good and connectivity is pretty good to the main railway.
Admission
1. Reservation system for different religions and part of society should be discontinued. 2. Cut off for Bcom(morning) is generally 94% 3. Christians and SC/ST students get special benefits due to reservation.
Faculty
1. College provides a very good ratio between students and professors which is a very good sign. 2. They generally don't provide 1-1 mentorship. They use PPT and presentation a lot for teaching. 3. Teachers are somehow approachable but not available all the time but as they're many teachers so one will always be available.
Other Applied Colleges
Delhi University - [DU] | Bachelor of Commerce [B.Com]
I didn't opt out this option because Xavier's delivers better placement than most of the DU colleges and a brand name.
