Likes

Campus Life is so chill. If you are not in class, none can interrupt you to enojoy in campus.
Student driven placement helps students to have transparent idea of placement conpanies, packages and the whole process.
Faculties are great. One of the best faculties of country you will be getting in jadavpur university.

Dislikes

Infrastructure of classroom is a thing to worry. You will not be getting a premium feeling in classroom
Sometimes student politics in campus make life little bit hard for students. (Not all the time, and also sometimes it helps students)
Some students promote ragging culture proudly in campus and hostel though it is decreasing.

Course Curriculum Overview

Power engineering is something that you wil be getting the exposure of Mechanical and electrical engineering simultaneously. If someone is interested in both, they can choose it. Carriculam simply prepare you to have the holistic idea of 'Power', like from how the power is generated to the transmission of power. Thermal power generation is the highlight of the course but other new technologies is also covered in the course. But I believe the modern ai and something realted to coding should be there.

Internships Opportunities

For internship, great companies come to campus( amazon, adobe). But for internship, student has to be serious and has to fight for the internship. Internship opportunity in JU is average I would say. Placement committee helps during final placement but not in the internship.

Placement Experience

Placement is great. In most of the depertments placement is more than 90 percent. Also placement committees help so much to place each and every student. Also alumni connection is there. Highest package in college is 2 cr per anum. average package varies depertment to depertment. For CSE dept. avg package is 20 lpa. But for lower branches avaerage package is around 6-8 lpa.

Fees and Financial Aid

Tuition fee is very less. You will be getting degree with 10000 rs only. Hostel fee is 25 rs per month. Govt scholarship is there and also student can avail alumni scholarship, which can cover all your 4 year expenditure of the course.

Campus Life

Campus life is there but clubs and social group is not in that level to be honest. You can have a good canpus life in terms of friens and hand out. Clubs are there but it doesn't help that much. Library is average. Festival and events are something that can excite you. Sanskriti and Srijan are the best events of Jadavpur University.

Hostel Facilities

Hostels are great. Everyone can have single room. Hostel fee is 25 rs per month. But everyone will not be getting hostel. So around the campus one can find PG or rented flat easyly. It costs around 5-6k per month.

Admission

Have to crack wbjee. Reservation are there in every course as per govt rules. Cut off you can find in internet. You should prepeare for wbjee from your 11th class because the syllabus of exam demands 11 and 12 together.

Faculty

Facullties are great and saying about their credentials all are highly qualified. They are also interested in teaching with passion. I have seen during my course that if one student is attending class, faculties are taking class with one student only. If someone is interested in live projects or internship, faculties are there to help you. Many faculties are engaged with big names ( Nasa, DRDO etc). So students get exposure of these institutions by working with faculties.

Placement Experience:

Eligibility for placement is from 3rd year,with tier 1 companies visiting like Google, Amazon along with mass requiters like TCS, Capgemini, Wipro etc.Last year heights placement package was 72LPA offered to 15 students and average was 2-3 LPA.

Okay college and decent placement

Placement Experience:

The campus placement is same as all low 3 tier colleges which is nearly 4-5 lpa average salary given by mass recuitor companies .The companies are infosys , ltimindtree , accenture , ibm , capgemini , cognigent , etc .The placement rate is nearly 60 to 70 percent.

Heritage Institute of Technology: A Detailed Observation

Placement Experience:

The students become eligible for campus placements from third year that is after 5th semester. Companies like TCS, Infosys, Wipro, Cognizant and IBM are amongst the mass hirers. Almosy 80 percent of the students get placed every year and the top 10 percent of the students receive high paying job offers. The average package is around 4.86 LPA and in 2023, the highest package was 16 LPA and in 2022, the highest package was 44 LPA. Talking about my future plans, I wish to pursue my masters abroad after completing my undergraduate course here.

Plans after getting the degree: My plans depends on placement.If I get a job of around 15 LPA then I will not do master degree and if I get job of around 4-5 LPA then I will do master for further great opportunities

Placement Experience:

Despite the low fee structure, my college provides a good placements. Almost every student of CSE Dept who sit for placement, gets the placement between 4lpa - 6lpa. Last year the highest package was ?12 lpa. ECE department has the lowest percentage of placements. And other engineering departments have between 60-70% placement. All the mentioned above is the description of in campus placement. Not many students of my college opt for out campus. But if they do, they get good placements as per the reports. In 2021 a student secured the job in Microsoft, with the placement of ?45 lpa (out campus).

Like my main was getting to IIT which I couldn't as U couldn't clear JEE advanced.So my next option was to choose between NITS and JU.So clearly choose JU because it completes our BE in 10k whereas the fees of NITs are really high.So as I gave JEE in 2024 my jee main rank was something around 64K (95.5 percentile) and my wbjee rank was 2341 and got alloted food Technology and biochemical engineering in jadavpur university.The process to get into our college is to give wbjee and if u are a general your rank should be within 2500 to get into this premium college....Read More

Homebound Forward with Jadavpur University

I have always wanted to study in Jadavpur University in one of their literature departments since I was a kid. This was a way of achieving a tiny dream of mine. Moreover, the Comparative Literature Department is the best in all entire Asia and the first one in the country. I wanted to experience the greatness of this course and how the canons of this literature were formed here. It is also the topmost State Public University and 9th in NIRF I wanted to be a part of an institution that could be great to this extent. The admission took place on the basis of a merit-based entrance examination. The seats are limited; therefore, only the top 15 students out of almost 800-1000 who appeared for the exam were selected. The Pros and Cons of Joining Jadavpur University Masters of Arts in Economics

1) I applied for Delhi School of Economics, however couldn't manage an admission due to the extreme cutoff on CUET exam for the same. I had confirmed admission from North Bengal University, however it was not feasible since I had a choice in Jadavpur University. Jadavpur University has the best rank among all other colleges I had a confirmed admission to, so I chose this University. 2) I wanted to study in Delhi School of Economics, but couldn't make it there due to the extensive cutoff in CUET which I unfortunately couldn't clear. 3) Jadavpur University conducts its own internal exam for admission into its esteemed Masters of Arts [M.A.] programme. However one can get through by CUET exams as well, however that needs a decent score.
