Course Curriculum Overview

5

My course is Bachelors of technology in computer science and engineering -data science. The field of Data science is growing day by day and its demand is increasing as well. For me I don't only found it a demanding field but also interesting field as well. This contains computer science but also major portion of maths too such as statistics calculas and probability. If you are interested in statistics calculas and coding then go for this one

Internships Opportunities

5

The college do offer intership programs to students mostly in 3rd year . But they also allow for off campus internship as well they fo give leave for internships no matter off campus or on campus. Many seniors helps us for searching the internship and training as well

Placement Experience

4

Placement wise this college is quite decent.... The placement is quite better than most of the college here in Kolkata.. The placement percentage is 95 percent ... Average pakage offered is 5 lpa Companies like google Capgemini Microsoft and many more do take students Off campus placement are also allowed here here..... Companies head office are near to this college as well

Fees and Financial Aid

At beginning... In 1st sem we pay 98500 In second semester we pay 95500 From 3rd to 8th semester we pay 84000 every semester... This is just admission fees .... These all sum up around 7 lakhs The hostel is out side the campus around 20 to 30 min at walking distance.... It costs 30000 quarterly which is 120000 annually including food

Campus Life

3

Campus is very small like really small You don't get enough space for proper college life enjoyment. There are canteens food trucks in he college There are various clubs like coding club literary club cultural club film movies club and many clubs We do host jamming and other activities in our college They do have turf outside the college for sports events and all But the only and main concern is the size of the campus that is too small

Hostel Facilities

1

Hostel is provided by the college and also pg as well but the hostel is really bad especially for the 1st years hostel for higher are way better. The food is too bad and hostels space is vulnerable But majority of the students in the college lives in private pgs and flats theyy are better and much more affordable that hostels.... And food is better If you are coming to this college please prefer pg don't even dare to choose hostel over pg or flats

Admission

I gave west bengal joint entrance exam and I was allotted this college in 1st round it self hence I took this college. I thought that this college would be good in every aspects as it contains the name international... Yes they do provide international exchange program but still it so lacks at many aspects... Main concern is campus In wbjee you can easily det this college you can get cse core in 24k rank as well and back branches in even lower rank as well

Faculty

4

So there are many faculties provided to us.... For each subject we have 2 main faculties and 1 random faculty who takes extra class of that subject every week . Our college follows makaut academics which consists of : 6 subjects pwr semester in which we have 3 theory which are physics maths and basic electrical engineering and 3 labs that are basic electrical engineering lab physics lab and mechanical workshop 4 sub-exams which is call CA .. each CA contains 25 marks each and all are of different forms i.e. CA1 is ppt making CA2 is report writing CA 3 is written exam CA 4 is online exam Then our main semester exam is of 70 marks Our semester grades are given out of 100 marks in each subjects which is 70 marks of semester exam 25 marks for best CA exam and 5 marks on attendance . 75% attendance is mandatory for giving semester exams Majority of the Faculties are good but 1 or 2 facilities are not good for certain reasons... One of them is the language barrier

I’d rate HIT’s placement opportunities as 7.5/10 overall. It’s very good for CSE, IT, and ECE, decent for Electrical and core branches, and improving every year with more companies visiting and better preparation programs. If you’re skilled and consistent — especially in coding, communication, and aptitude — you’ll almost certainly get placed before graduatin

7th semester is when the students get to sit for placements. I am not sure about the total no of companies visited but I am aware of the name of few companies like IBM Infosys Wipro Capsitech Tech Mahindra cognizant etc . Mostly the girls are 100 percent placed cause there is diversity hiring. Mass recruiters is what visit our campus mostly.. I personally would look for a job after graduation highest package offered displayed by college is 75 lpa but I don't think so it is real. Maybe someone had worked hard and got placed off campus. On campus highest isbi guess 12-14 lpa

Course Curriculum Overview:

- I choose Data Science as it is new to my college when comparing with the other branches. The curriculum is just okay it is not per industry standards but if students deep drives in each aspects then they are likely to crack GATE exams. - The whole curriculum needs and improvement from the very 1st Year and removal of irrelevant subjects like Discrete Mathematics, Electonics, Biology for IT branches are required. - Semester exams are conducted every 6 months and CTs are conducted every 2 months

For campus placements student become eligible from the 7th semester onwards and for internships student get eligible from 5th semester onwards. Wide no of companies visited our campus around 180+ and made around 580+ offers to the students. The highest salary was 58LPA which was offered by DE Shaw and the highest accepted salary was 51LPA in Microsoft. The average package rolls roughly around 10-12 LPA.The profile offered include SDE roles, management roles, finance in some cases. The overall placement percentage was around 80% with Branches like electrical and metallurgy moving above 90% followed by CSE and ECE in the mid 80s while for biotech and civil the placement percentage are generally below 70.My plans after getting the degree is to land a job offer from on campus placements.Therefafter maybe look out for and MBA from top B schools of india.
