Course Curriculum Overview

3.5

The reason behind my choosing this course is that now there are plenty of options for computer science graduates. the KTU curriculum is somewhat outdated because in the first semester, every student has to attend mechanical and civil engineering labs. They could have used those hours for some other purposes like learning the basics of a new programming language or something else. Semester exams will be almost after the 4th month of the beginning of the semester as of now and their difficulty level is in the range medium to hard.

Placement Experience

4.5

One of the best placement cells of the university belongs to our college. It is handled by the students themselves. The highest package of this year was 52 lakhs per annum. Also, this year almost 164 students of CSE got placed in reputed companies.

Fees and Financial Aid

For students in Kerala of the OBC category they can avail e-grantz scholarship and they wouldn't have to pay their fees because the government will take care of it. Also if one gets into the college with the fee waiver which is based on their ranks in KEAM examination, they wouldn't have to pay their tuition fees.

Campus Life

3.5

It's really a small campus after all and so we can communicate with others frequently. Numerous clubs and other activities do go one its way along with academics. There are two units allotted for National Service Scheme(NSS) and they have been doing a splendid job for society as well as the college.

Hostel Facilities

4

There is a college men's hostel close to the college. It costs about 3500 a month as rent for hostel. There will 3 students in a room during the first year. After completion of first year, the count reduces to 2. Priority is given to students who are far away from home during the initial admission for hostel. There is a strong anti-ragging committe within college to ensure that everything goes smooth.

Admission

One gets admission into the college based on their rank in the KEAM examination. Computer science and engineering is one of the most demanded courses these days and hence the cut-off rank for it in this college is about 2500. The admission process is quite tiring because one has to fill in forms and all. I propose that it should all be digitalized.

Faculty

4.5

Most of the faculty are M.Tech or PhD scholars and they really help us out with our doubts. We won't get lost and we will always feel that they are one among us. Engineering is made simpler with the help of these efficient and loving mentors.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The course curriculum is the worst. Teachers rush through the portions so that they can finish at the earliest. It may be because the university has a unjustifiable timetable. There is very little practicals given. The ones that are given are just for namesake.

Course Curriculum Overview:

Course curriculum is under KTU syllubus do it's fine. There is a change in curriculum coming 2024 which i assume would make a lot of good changes. The curriculum gives you a head start For most of your work, you need to on your own but the faculty is there to help. The frequency of exams is weekly tests + monthly exams. Its not too difficult of an exam.

Currently placements are bit low, due to inflation, but compared to other colleges like KMEA, etc we have better placements similar to Muthoot and all. We have placement training, and other supports which can help us crack aptitude exams and prepare for placements Almost 70-80% students are placed every year, with an avg package of 4LPA

The students usually start appearing for campus placements in their 6th semester. The training for the campus placements is started for all the students from the 4th semester. Many companies visited for campus placements. But one main problem is that most of them were low packages. Around 4LPA. Some were between 4-6 and a very few between 6-10. Most of them got placed in our batch in some company.
