One and only MEC

The course I opted is biomedical engineering. As long as there is humans there is medical field. So biomedical engineering always have it's own relevance. The curriculum is well prepared in order that the students get a clear view of what the biomedical field is. Since most of the students studied bio-maths stream in higher secondary schooling, they are not able to comprehend with the programming papers.

The training and placement cell are very much active in our college. For 3rd sem onwards they train the students to attend an interview, take part in group discussions, etc. During the 7th sem placements occur. The core companies come to the college for recruitment process.

There are mainly 2 types of fee structure. One is merit and other one is management. For merit seat, fees for one semester is around 22k. And for management it is about 45k. There is also another provision called fee waiver seat which costs only around 3k for one semester. This is seat is only for limited students with high rank and low income. There are also many scholarships by which we can get financial aids. There is training cell and a placement cell in the college to train the students to attend interviews and get placed. They also get internships offers.

The annual tech festival 'EXCEL' is the first tech fest conducted by an engineering college in south India. It mainly during the November-December times. The arts and sports meet called ' Layatharang - Chakravuyh ' occurs during the end of each academic years. The library have a wide range of books which is covered in two stories. Each streams have their own clubs like for computer science they have tinkerhub , for biomedical stream they have BMA, for electronics stream they have Mixed Signals,etc. Other student clubs like NSS and bhoomitrasena are very active in building a social aspect in the student's behavior.

The admission process starts from the Kerala Engineering Architecture Medical Entrance Exam (KEAM). Application forms for KEAM is provided in the website of office of the commissioner of Entrance examinations. Inorder to get a merit seat in computer science stream we get to get a rank above 2000. For other streams lesser rank is enough. KEAM Entrance examinations is much more easier when compared to JEE mains.

The faculties are very good. The faculty to student ratio is normally 1: 50 but in our class it is 1:70. Most teachers are strict and keep the classes engaging. Few of them have doctorates and most of them are post graduates. Many of them graduated from our college itself.
