Likes

College has a great deal of fine faculties. Academically a very good space for students as the campus is student friendly
Placements is the main attraction of the college. Companies of dealing with various engineering aspects visit the college for academically and technically skilled students.
This year the uniform also changed and that too looks good comparing to the other government engineering colleges ran in kerala

Dislikes

The college has a poor infrastructure. Only got two main blocks functioning and the population in the college is pretty packed due to the same reason
Lack of college events. There are only two main events commonly for the whole college namely a tech fest and arts and sports events are also conducted
Library is not equipped with all the needed study material or the issue is that there is no sufficient quantity of the books that are available.

Course Curriculum Overview

I am currently studying in a newly introduced branch Electronics engineering specified in VLSI design and technology. This is a demanding field and companies are developing the semiconductor field and would help me in the aspect of placement if a decent cgpa score is displayed.

Internships Opportunities

Ansys , intel, synopsis and many other companies accept interns .But an exquisite resume should be presented. Internships are provided but it is generally really hard to get through and get an opportunity .

Placement Experience

Placements are the main attraction of the college. Despite the poor infrastructure and lack of events compared to other colleges students opt the college for placements. The off campus placements are also pretty good.

Fees and Financial Aid

The fee structure depends on the seat in which you are studying. The classification is mainly merit management and NRI quota. Fee vary according to the ranking , reservation and seat type in which you enter the college. As NRI seat doesn't depend upon the rank you get thee fee structure has a great difference comparing to merit and management.

Campus Life

Campus Life depends on the perspective you take.Students are generally sociable and teachers are friendly too.There is an ample amount of clube that work in social, technical, sports and artistic sides.You can join according to your interests. Workshops are conducted for the progress of students though none of them are free it is actually worth it to participate.

Admission

The general procedure is to get a decent rank in the KEAM examination and will also depend upon the branch you are opting for and the type of seat you could afford too. The cut off may vary depending on the reservation system that persists.Going through previous year cut off's of KEAM would give a clear picture.

Faculty

The teachers are available at times of needy. Majority of the faculty has a great knowledge in the subject and makes it easier for the students to rely on the college teachers only rather than opting any other online platform or any other alternatives. There is a sufficient number of staff for the residing students in the college.

College Feels Like Home

Placement Experience:

The placement department in our college is great and is always trying to bring good companies to the college. The placement training starts from semester 7. Our top recruiter include Infosys, TCS, Wipro, NocoBD, Delloite, etc. and our mechanical, civil, EEE,ECE all got placements with avg of 4lpa.The highest package where 12 Lpa for SAP. My plans is to get a good job and lead a stable life.

Students in 7th and 8th semester are eligible to sit for campus placements. Companies like Oracle, Goldman Sachs, L&T, Bajaj, Caterpillar and PSU's like BEL,HPCL and BPCL come to the college usually the coding companies offer aroung 35-40 LPA CTC and the core PSU companies offer around 17-18 LPA. Highest Package is 51 LPA and an Average Package of 12 LPA. Nearly 85% students from Circuit and CS branch get placed and around 60% in core branches who sit for placements, My plans after getting the degree is to join MBA to learn how business world works and how the money flows

My honest review of ICET

Placement Experience:

The students are eligible for attending campus placement from semester 7. Some companies that visits ICET are Utc global, Layland, DeltaX, etc. The average package given by the companies are 3 lpa. The percentage of students getting placed are around 40%. I plan to placed at any company.

MEC Thrikkakkara: Strong Academics and Placements, but Room for Infrastructure Growth

My cousin studied here few years back and is now working a top tech company.I applied for Cs in MSRIT and AMRITA,but the fee structure over there is too high(around 3-4 lakh per year).Here overall fee amount is equivalent the yearly fee.To get admission in MEC,a person needs to write keam exam .Three phases of allotment are held in here.At the beginning of all allotment,we could change our preferences.For CSE BATCH,CUTOFF RANK FOR merit is around 2k and Management around 3.5k .For CSBS it's around 3k for Merit and 7-8k for management....Read More

Good for social life but very minimal infrastructure and facilities

The reason I chose this college over other options were due to the prime location in which it is present and due to the city it is present in . MEC is renowned for the placement opportunities available in this college and is placed in the top 3 colleges in Kerala in terms of placemenets . The admission is based on the student's KEAM rank and this rank decides whether you get the Merit seat or management seat . For others you also have an NRI seat .
