Likes

The infrastructure is amazing. Every facility provided in every way posssible.
The campus life is pretty awesome. New fests and events almost every week.
Faculty is very helpful and able to help us out when needed

Dislikes

High fees. Gives a lot of academic pressure .
Hostel in time of 8.30 PM is pretty annoying.
Bad management staff. A lot of pressing needed.

Course Curriculum Overview

Thapar follows LTP credits criteria. That is lectures, tutorials and practicals. So all in all the courses are pretty comprehensive but the marking of exams is very tough. The way if exams is Sessional Mid sem Sessional End sem

Internships Opportunities

Different companies like apple. Amazon. JPMC offer internships in both tech and non tech area INTERNSHIPS BEGIN from the end of year 2 but majority of them are landed in the third year. Many more companies are a part as well

Placement Experience

In campus placement ms of thapar were respectable before the drop of the market. But that is the same all over India. Companies like apple and amazon do visit the college and many companies start offering. Internships in the third year

Fees and Financial Aid

Major fees is tuition, hostel and mess. Scholarships on tuition fees are available for top 10 percent of each branch. My total cost including travel expenses and monthly allowance was 35 LAKHs for four years.

Campus Life

The campus life is the best part of Thapar University. There are cells and societies for every extra curricular activities. The campus is truly ragging free. Every sports amenities is present emincluding swimming pool, basketball courts. The campus also has it's own markets and a lot more.

Hostel Facilities

The hostels are well equipped. Some of the hostels have sodexo messes while others have thapar messes. Sodexo messes are pretty non tasty but thapar messes are delicious. Each hostels have their own recreation zones and gyms although girl's hostel gyms suck.

Hostel Fee: INR 800000 per year

Admission

The admission take place through JEE all india exam, CBSE BOARDS PCM subjects and a thapar entrance test directly admits you in second semester. Form is available on the website and details are well memtioned

Faculty

The faculty is very helpful and highly educated. Helpful at every step. Although some of them might irritate you for attendance but more or less, the experience is pretty sarisfactory. The checking of exams is very hard though.

Chandigarh University - My experience from fees to social life

Course Curriculum Overview:

The curriculum is good and cover every aspects of learning and skills needed in today's time but it feels the semester get over to fast in around 3.5 months with 3 exams and lab exam. They should provide the real learning based on a student interest some student are good in coding but they lack to communicate better, they should focus on that part also as they also do in many cases by giving subjects like soft skills and communication skills every sem.The teacher should not be reading the ppt only . We can do that also why we are paying that much fees just to learn from a teacher who is just reading the slides.

Placement Experience:

My plan is to pursue masters but placements at LPU are best. Over 100 tech comapnies have tie-ups with our university and all of them are of highest regard. From Code tech to Flipkart and Google every big tech company come to our campus. Student have bagged packages close to 1 crores as well from LPU campus.

Course Curriculum Overview:

i would rate the course curriculum as largely relevant and fairly comprehensive,. one of the main reasons i chose this course was the balance between conceptual foundations and practical exposure. the curricuum supports future academic growth since many of the modules introduce us to advance topics early, making it easier to explore research. some topics feel slightly outdated and could be aligned better with the current industry skills and technologies. the exam schedule is manageable, though sometimes multiple assessments happen in the same week or same day, ehich adds pressure . Spacing out evaluations a bit more and giving clearer rubrics could improve the overall experience

Honest is the best Policy

I was getting addmission in some other private colleges but this was near to me and had a great rew.. Its infra and hostels are really worth it. I had a really nice percentile of 98.9 in jee mains but what happend is i intentionally wanted to score 69 in boards i didnt know about the 75 percent jee mains criteria i got 69.7 i like to call it 69.69 but i messed up so i applied in vit as well and srm and thapar i got in all of them after giving there respective tests on the same fees but i chose thapar was better after some consultation with my relatives who are in this field and know people in this field i got admission in the end on basis on jee only in thapar and the experience is well...Read More

I applied for VIT and SRM but didn't take admission due to poor quality of placements and peer group. I am from the General Outside Punjab quota.
